According to French-Algerian philosopher Albert Camus, our world has no ultimate meaning, but if it had, it would be impossible to know it. It’s all pretty pointless as if the universe is nothing more than a cosmic coincidence, born without any specific goal or significance. For some, such a meaningless existence could lead to despair and even worse. So it seems that, for many, meaning is necessary to live; and without meaning, life is not worth living.

That Nico Robin thumbnail. On point! Didn't think you were a one piece fan. Cheers mate!

"My mother died today, or may be yesterday, I don't know." The very first line of "The Stranger" signifies a deep meaning of the absurdity.

The point of existence… IS to EXIST. We each make our own “purpose” in life. I like to believe that the meaning of my life is to LEARN and to EXPERIENCE life. I rationalize this with our VERY FIRST action at birth. We were given senses… and ever since our birth, we have been using them to experience and learn.
  • I think Albert Camus should be a required subject in literature classes world wide. The Stranger is a wonderful piece of work.

Meaning is itself a sort of paradox. When we say that something has no meaning, we are in fact giving that thing meaning. It's meaning is that it has no meaning. Just like how food that has no taste, has a taste, it's taste is that it is bland and has no taste.

Absolutely love the Robin “I want to live” 💙😭

A book about absurdism has given me this sense of awe is basic stuff. We don't give nature and the universe enough credit because we're used to seeing it. But REALLY realizing how strange it is that we're even alive, even for a second, is an uncanny, slightly anxious bliss

I was an absurd man who lived the life without hope, but I can't say I "lived", I just "existed". There's no life without hope and only an attachment to the hobby kept me through that period.
  • It's the One Piece thumbnail that did it for me. I love this channel even more now!
  • for those who dont know, the character in the thumbnail is Nico Robin. Its apt that she was chosen for this because, when she thought she could not longer achieve her dream, her reason for living, she was ready to die. Thankfully, the main character helps her stay alive, and she finds the will to keep living because of his kindness. I havent gotten too far in one piece yet, so i dont know if she achieves her dream, but i hope she does! (edit for typo!)
  • Just had a deep conversation with my dad on this. I have a real problem with this. I'm glad you came out with this video 12 hours after that. You've been so helpful. Thank you for all your research and hard work.
  • As someone who went from theism to atheism, it was really difficult at first. I was taught that the meaning of life was to worship god (Allah). After realizing that there is no afterlife, it's like learning to walk again. Even though life has no ultimate meaning, it doesn't mean that there is no meaning. The physicist Sean Carroll said it's like painting. A great art is not made by coloring books, where you get the instructions on what to color and where. A great art is made by creativity, we can paint different paintings.

Live for the experiences.. good and bad; we can't know one without the other. Master the waves of life and never give up hope for the things you desire. Thank you for this inspiring video. 🙏 Peace, love, and good vibes to you and everyone here. 💜

The most important thing is to keep yourself so much busy that these negative thoughts don't take over you!
  • @silverbob4118
You pulled the Nico Robin card, you got my view and like.

I'm a writer and this channel has inspired me in some way. The title of my recent eBook is "The absurdity of existence". And I'm really inspired by Albert Camus
