Tips To Beat Menopausal Belly Fat

Published 2022-05-20
Picture this: You wake up, drink some coffee, do your daily workout and go about your day-to-day routine. Suddenly, you start noticing some stubborn belly fat that has never been there before. You haven't changed anything in your routine for years, so what could it be?

If this sounds familiar to you, you are most likely experiencing increased visceral fat. Visceral fat is the fat inside our abdomen and surrounds our internal organs. This is not the fat that we see! It is hidden under our skin and is extremely metabolically active and sensitive to inflammatory foods.

In this video, Dr. Mary Claire Haver explains how to control and reduce visceral fat using evidence-based research. To find out how you can get rid of this extra belly fat and measure your health, keep watching!

Yes! I weighed between 116 and 120 with a flat tummy and lots of energy for YEARS. I turned 50, and within a couple of years, Im 150 pounds with a jiggly belly, nothing fits, i have no energy, and everything hurts. My diet hasnt changed. I have been telling my family that it's hard navigating the world in a body that doesn't feel like mine. Thank you for the validation!

My dad ALWAYS ALWAYS said this from like the past 50 years that subcutaneous fat is not the real enemy but the fat that you can’t see and is around the organs. Thank you so much for saying that aloud.

Taking care of my elderly mother recently has opened my eyes to how critical it is to stay strong and healthy through my 50s and beyond.

I’m 75. Always have eaten well and exercised. But 15 years ago I gave up sugar. I list about 15 lbs and have kept it off. Have been intermittent fasting for two years, and still have not gained weight.

Finally someone who knows exactly what I’m feeling. I have never had belly fat - I now have two rolls in the last two years. I’m miserable, brain fog is so real, anxiety is high, mood swings are awful. I don’t even feel like myself. I don’t even like myself. Can’t wait to check out your blogs

Alzheimer's, muscle loss. Had cervical cancer in 1998, complete hysterectomy. In 2012 Had stage 4 colorectal cancer. Lots of chemo and radiation. The vagina, the rectum and bladder are fried and damaged from radiation! Was not aware of low Estrogen or hormones even being checked . Today, I'm 59 and every Hormone out of wack. For the last year I've added HRT and it's very difficult adjusting the levels. Cholesterol thru the roof, Dr pissed because I refuse to take statin. THANKFUL for you and your dedication to helping us women! My mom at 60 diagnosed with TRUE CLASSIC ALZHEIMER'S. I truly believe now that hormones was a huge part of this. THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH. for helping us all❤

This is what happened to me. I have gained 35 lbs over the last 3 years, while I'm going through menopause. I'm dealing with weight gain in my abdomen, when I've always had a flat stomach. I'm now pre-diabetic, which is my biggest fear, because I've lost my grandmother and aunt to complications due to diabetes. This is ringing alarms. I know I have an excessive amount of visceral fat.
  • OMG you have literally explained what is happening to me when no one had an explanation except " your just getting older..it's normal " I'm 47 and have gained over 30 lbs in 2 years had a partial hysterectomy 13 yes ago. Diagnosed with hypothyroidism but just borderline so no medication. I found your utube channel and almost cried with emotional relief that there is an explanation for what's been happening with me. Thank you so much!

Oatmeal, Chia, gr. Flax, chopped apples, blueberries cinnamon, honey every morning!
  • My biggest fear is losing my ability to work, having mobility and cognitive function. I just found your channel and I am so grateful to have discovered your videos. I went through menopause late (56). In 2020, my doctor put me on antidepressants for my stress; and I ended up gaining 70 lbs. Since then, I haven’t been able to lose the weight, especially in my stomach. I am trying to lower my cortisol and stress, so diets don’t work. Be careful of ALL medications after menopause. They impact your hormones.

HRT absolutely treated my menopausal depression

Dementia scares me the most. Taking care of my mom when she had dementia and seeing her mind literally disintegrate, was devastating. She left us far before she passed away.
