I purchased it for $4. It's a rusty vintage Hitachi Impact Driver, model WH8DB3. Due to water damage, its electric motor suffered severe rusting, and the battery is no longer functional. In this video, I will demonstrate the restoration process, including repairing the electric motor and upgrading the battery from Ni-Cd to lithium
* Impact drive Information *
- Brand: Hitachi
- Model: WH 8DB3
- VOLTS: DC9.6V
- Hex Shank: 6.35 mm (1/4")
- Rotation speed:0-2200 rpm
I'm very happy to receive your feedback, advice, suggestions to improve myself.

    No use trashing older hand power tools, just convert them like you did and use them for many more years. Nice conversion and outcome... Thumbs Up!

    The motor parts are electroplated at the factory. Once you wire wheel off the rust and rest of the plating, those bare metal parts starts to rust again pretty quickly. I think you should put on somekind of coating or electro plate them again, if you have planned to really use that impact driver. Otherwise the rust will seize the motor again. Nice save, well done nevertheless!
