  • Getting ran on for 300+ yards and physically dominated caused the loss.

Michigan would have beaten Alabama by 2 or three scores if they hadn't missed a PAT, FG; hadn't muffed a punt giving Alabama a short field. They were just better and more physical on both offensive & defensive lines than anyone else this season.

It's said over and over, defense wins championships. When I saw one camera shot of the Michigan defensive players on the sideline, I went, whoa, these guys are massive. Still, I'm proud for the Huskies making it this far.
  • @Bwilliams2
Washington is a very very good team. But they were beaten by the best team in the nation.

I will say, your coach and team were as classy as we have seen all year, I actually felt bad for Penix and the rest of the players still on the field for the trophy ceremony. We can relate to how you feel today from our last two trips before this one, I think you should all hold your heads high and feel the future is bright for you with the new playoff system coming and joining us in the big ten.

Michigan rushed for more yards than Washington's entire offense was able to muster, 303-301. Washington scored only 1 TD It took 11p only 56y and a 4th n goal was needed to score I'm sure it was a humbling experience. Michigan fans know exactly how it feels as Georgia did the same thing to our Joe Moore Award winning oline in '21. Washington defense battled back but it wasn't to be. Washington had an incredible season, unbelievable coach, and memories to last a lifetime. Congratulations and welcome to the B1G

Congratulations to the Huskies. You got to the National Championship and what a feat that is. I, too, was impressed that some of your players were on the field for the trophy ceremony. Hold your head high and next year is a new season. Welcome to the Big Ten.

Im going to be honest that Michigan team was one of the most complete team i ever seen in college football would love to see that Michigan defense vs the 2019 lsu would be epic
  • Congratulation Washington on a great season. Y'all just ran into a buzzsaw. Michigan was on a mission since losing it last year. Welcome to the B1G family.😊

Mike Tyson used to say "everyone has a plan until they get hit in the mouth". After the first quarter it was clear that Michigan's physicality and toughness was going to be the key. Keeping Penix on his toes and making him uncomfortable was key as well. Washington's offensive line had just won the Joe Moore award for being the best offensive line unit in football and they were totally dominated by the front four of Michigan's defense.

Interior pressure is the key to a great defense and Michigan had the best and deepest interior in the nation. No where for Pemix to go and it really showed
  • @xdude2x
Nothing to be ashamed of, 14-1 and lost to an all time defense. That game was close late congrats on a great year, Go Blue!
  • @slapshot1x
Hats off to Washington. Class act, great program and bright future. Brothers in the big 10. Michigan fan!
  • @waltwhite5801
There were many missed holding calls on the Huskies too folks....But, my hats off to your entire team...Especially Penix....what a quality human being!
  • @rayelee1301
If I were Penix looking across at Kenneth Grant, Id be a little shaky too
  • @freeclimb5487
Michigan's defense is better than Georgia 2021 defense. The best defense in ncaa history.
  • @pchinnIII
The Running game; Wash. - 46 yards rushing 255 yards passing Mich. 303 yards rushing 140 yards passing
  • ... Say what you will about calls made or not made ... Michigan was simply a better team.
  • There's a simple reason why Penix missed throws he normally makes: he started staring at the rush. You see, in the Texas game, he was able to evade the rush while keeping his head up looking at the coverage. In this game, after he started getting pounded, human nature kicked in. Even though he was only sacked once, he was being pressured, he rushed passes, sometimes he was just chucking it. He was seeing ghosts. He started staring at the pass rush instead of the coverage. That's why he missed open guys. He looked average because Michigan made him average.

By the end of the game, I really felt bad for Pennix. On that last drive, he looked beaten physically.
