I love how Jamie clearly scared Adam way more then Adam expected
  • The best part of mythbusters is the narrator. I just can't get enough of those sarcastic quips. "Just good friends positions" "Sprinting, screaming Hyneman is what nightmares are made of"
  • @basilisks
I liked the part where Jamie dressed like an egg and ran head on screaming with a squishy knife at a pistol wielding Adam dressed as an incomplete circuit

I'm gonna be the one to mention that circles made of tapes is quite impressive
  • Jamie running full force with a knife struck me with fear I never knew I would experience

"We have to touch unfortunately" damn, those two really didn't like each other
  • Fools! You forget the ultimate self defense weapon... POCKET SAND!

These guys should get some kind of award for putting up with each other. They entertained millions of people around the globe

I wonder if Adam realizes he's essentially made a crude modern fencing setup, complete with electric weapon, body cord, and lamé. He even has the lights around the head to indicate a hit, like they put under the fencing masks in the podium bouts at televised/livestreamed international competitions.

“We have to touch unfortunately” The signs were there. Lol
  • @GamePhysics
Thing is, even if he got off a shot it wouldn't likely stop the attacker. Adrenaline does amazing things.

I remember hearing even back in 2001 that a knife at 10ft or less actually may have the advantage if well handled. This just re-enforces that and even seems to push that distance out a bit.

One oversight with this test is the majority of those who every day carry do so on a loaded chamber. This saves a lot of time and would most definitely be worth factoring into this experiment to get a complete picture.

theres a difference between a gunfight and an ambush

I watched a good video similar to this, however with respective knife and gun experts (no shade to our friends they just aren’t experts) and it really comes down to situational awareness and the situation itself. Even with the experts, bad luck of either side means you’re dead, stabbed or shot. Edit: the video is by Funker Tactical, a good watch

"Bring both to a gun fight" Sometimes, my genius is almost frightening.
