This will be a bit confusing because I attempted to use more sound from the actual gameplay footage instead of pumping all the music in all the time. Let’s consider this an experiment that may or may not pan out. These are the songs I pumped in that were not from the game I was currently talking about at that moment. Timestamp – song name – contributing artists (Game if relevant) 0:09 – Festival! – Murasato Shota (100% Orange Juice) 1:56 – Prologue – Tetsuya Shibata (Devil May Cry 3) 2:07 – Dante’s Office 7 Hells Battle – Tetsuya Shibata (Devil May Cry 3) 2:39 – Happy Day in Paris – French Cafe 24 x 7 3:30 – Gigapede Battle – Tetsuya Shibata (Devil May Cry 3) 4:58 – Welcome to Le-Loucle – Takahiro Unisuga (Trails in the Sky: SC) 6:34 – Youth – GT-K (100% Orange Juice) 6:59 – Cerberus Battle – Shawn McPherson (Devil May Cry 3) 10:33 – ZombieRock – UG (100% Orange Juice) 11:03 – Escape – Hirokazu Tanaka (Super Metroid) 12:57 – Water Line – Masafumi Takada (God Hand) 13:05 – Handsome Dynamite – Masafumi Takada (God Hand) 13:12 – Any Special Orders – Steven McNair (Devil May Cry 5) 15:04 – Dark Matter – Masafumi Takada (God Hand) 15:30 – Anthem of Satan – Masafumi Takada (God Hand) 18:23 – It’s a smile World – Masafumi Takada (God Hand) 21:29 – POPSTAR – yusuke karino (100% Orange Juice) 21:59 – Superman – Goldfinger (Tony Hawk Pro Skater) 22:31 – Do you have any evidence? – watson (100% Orange Juice) 23:40 – Looking Up at The Sky – Takahiro Unisuga (Trails in the Sky: SC) 24:10 – Vergil Battle 2 – Tetsuya Shibata (Devil May Cry 3) 24:48 – Hard Wall – MATSU (100% Orange Juice) 25:41 – Rock on the Road – Wataru Ishibashi (Trails in the Sky: FC) 27:59 – Elevator – Local Forecast 37:22 – Brawlin’ – Austin Jorgensen – Lisa: The Painful 43:31 – Provincial City of Rolent – Hyato Sonoda (Trails in the Sky: FC) 43:37 – How to Walk in Liberl – Hyato Sonoda (Trails in the Sky: FC) 46:37 – Seaport City of Ruan – Wataru Ishibashi (Trails in the Sky: FC) 47:58 – Fight with Assailant – Takahiro Unisuga, Takahide Murayama (Trails in the Sky: SC) 48:28 – Creeping Crisis – Hyato Sonoda (Trails in the Sky: FC) 49:33 – Studio City of Zeiss – Wataru Ishibashi (Trails in the Sky: FC) 49:57 – Leiston Fortress – Wataru Ishibashi (Trails in the Sky: FC) 54:10 – Fly Flap – Masafumi Takada (God Hand) 58:48 – Commercial City of Bose – Hyato Sonoda (Trails in the Sky: FC) 1:01:50 – You Can’t Escape You Know – Mike Morasky (Portal) 1:08:34 – The Byway of Departure – Wataru Ishibashi (Trails in the Sky: FC) 1:10:23 – Creep – Radiohead 1:28:27 – Axel F – Crazy Frog 1:34:57 – Ain’t That Funny – Sick YG (Madworld) 1:39:54 – Evil Trigger (Eurobeat Remix) – TruboA 1:44:39 – I Feel Like I Could Dance with the Wind SC Version – Wataru Ishibashi (Trails in the Sky: SC) 1:45:57 – Black Orbment – Wataru Ishibashi (Trails in the Sky: FC) 1:46:38 – Back me up – Manbou 2nd Class (100% Orange Juice) 1:47:24 – Okashi no oie wa nikaidate – SAKURA beatz.jp/ (100% Orange Juice) 1:49:27 – Delightful Spekkio – Yasunori Mitsuda, Nobuo Uematsu (Chrono Trigger) 1:50:20 – A Cat Relaxing in the Sun – Hyato Sonoda (Trails in the Sky: FC) 1:53:19 – Devils Never Cry – Jason Arnold (Devil May Cry 5 Version)

Dropping this during the Dawntrail server maintenance is so kind

This is a strange title for a Gunbreaker guide.
  • @fieryrebirth
Dante's characterization and growth is a pretty good indicator of how much thought went into his development despite starring in simple stories, that even his edgelord-like self in DMC2 can be explained. After DMC1 and the emotional trauma he endured, Dante went through his "emo" arc in the anime and DMC2, until he met Nero in DMC4. I honestly loved learning this development even if it wasn't told to you.
  • @adacapo
There's a lot to love here - the edits, relating the series' production to other issues in the industry, how much your love for the series shines through - but the unremarked upon lawn chair mod is a beautiful touch. ❤ Some of the stuff about V is explained in the "Visions of V" manga, including where he got the money, but iirc it was never released in English.
  • @HuwLightfist
That brief cut to Haze for the Edgelord Simulator bit caused me to incur deep psychic damage. Thank you.
  • @sssiyan312
dmc3 also has dynamic difficulty btw, an obvious example is dying a few times against cerb - he'll more often do the lunge then take forever for the chains to pull him back in
  • @ktp2004
noritaka funamizu is still in the credits of devil may cry 2, and he was never the director. if you are reading the wikipedia article, I understand why you might misread and misunderstand its strange wording. however, following the sources linked on wikipedia makes this information much clearer.

Another trails reference on another chair guy video. We are getting closer to a trails video from the chair guy
  • Came back to say the edits around the end of 5 are incredible. Fantastic job!
  • @fenikeizu3392
Surprisingly Lucifer did make a second appearance in DMC5. If you look closely Dante has a taunt where he throws Lucifer's rose and it does minor damage :D
  • How many hours did you pump into the DMC5 climax edit? HOOOOOOLY. Well done Mishappening chair
  • @DoctorPeace
Came for DMC, stayed for an uplifting chat about Devs being allowed to try and fail. Another ace well thought out vid, thanks again Chair
  • @LittlePayaso
Misshapen Chair...... I just finished this video but now I have to watch it again because i don't want itnto end.... great stuff !!!
  • @Hades9292
You managed to put a lot of how I feel about this series in words. Thank you very much for synthesizing it in a very entretaining... two hours??? What the hell I didn't even notice it was that long.
  • @Nixdigo
DMC3 had slightly different DT forms. I think DMC1 and 3 are unique in this way. Slight correction
  • @just_radical
In terms of "Is it Playable in *Present Year*" after playing all the DMC games on the HD collection last year (and then also playing Drakengard I for comparison on the other end of the scale) I was actually curious about this and I've been like going thru and playing a couple hours of a lot of PS2 era Hack and Slash games to get a feel for what was acceptable in 2000-2005 vs now. I'd def say that like you said with some tweaks to the camera, the continue system, and some slight alterations to make DMC1 Dante more like DMC3 and 5 Dante in personality than he is (I don't think they had quite mastered goofy memelord Dante yet), DMC1 holds up really well. Nothing else of the generation really matches it until Ninja Gaiden and DMC3 come out 3 to 4 years later. I'd even put it DMC1 ahead of the original GoW which has a bit too much QTE and platforming DNA from Prince of Persia for my tastes in a hack and slash. DMC1 was like years ahead of what anyone else could fathom in 2001. I'll throw this out there as well, if anyone enjoys the animations and weapons styles of DMC4 that don't return, consider playing Sengoku Basara 3 and 4. It's also by Capcom and it's a Dynasty Warriors style game that uses all the different weapon styles from DMC as basis for their character's fighting styles.
  • @BijanKo-l8n
grats on cracking 100k! Keep up the good work!
  • Iirc you actually can switch between Alastor and Ifrit in DMC 1 by pressing one of the thumb sticks, the game just never tells you that and it plays an animation when you swap. Still not optimal, but certainly better than going into the Menu constantly
  • @powerlucario
I went into this video thinking DMC was just a fun campy over the top action game that gets a little gringy sometimes but in a good way to thinking "wait is this series kinda based as fuck?". Great video
