So their plan is to attack someone who served in the national guard for years. While at the top of the Republican ticket is a 5 time draft dodger. Ok good idea.

Now a US senator from Ohio, Vance, 40, deployed to Iraq in 2005, as a military journalist. Despite his title – combat correspondent – he did not experience combat.
  • @rayrichter
Please don’t let President bone spurs running mate get away with this nonsense.
  • Why all this when Mr Bonespurs never served or trained on anything other than his ego?
  • I served 24 years in the British Army, Walz is a comrade, not an enemy.
  • We are a military family, and this will never work! My husband never went to war in 25 years, this is nuts. There are jobs where you do not go.

🚩🎃Where are the children that were separated from their parents at the Mexican border ? Where are the kids from Epstein Island ? Why aren't you talking more about who's on Epstein's list ? 🤔

Shady was a pencil pusher. What a joke he is.
  • Chuck you use to be fact based what happened. He put request in two months before and then went into congress.
  • You serve your country in the US Armed Forces for THAT many years, incl. active duty deployment to a support base in Italy during Afghanistan (leaving a wife & toddler at home); you’ve EARNED the right to request a discharge- no questions asked. The governor/then-high school teacher filed to run for the House seat in Feb 2005. He was honorably discharged in May 2005 (you request an application to voluntarily discharge a couple months ahead of time). His unit wasn’t called up until July of that year. All looks by the book, an Ivy League educated man can follow a series of events in chronological order I presume. Questionable valor? No. But Vance has questionable decency and no shame.
  • Don't you just love how the republicans criticize Harris by calling her a DEI candidate, then attack her for NOT making a DEI pick in Shapiro? You can be sure that if she HAD chosen Shapiro they would have been criticizing the selection on just those grounds. It's a "damned if you do; damned if you don't" situation.
  • Mr. Todd, didn't you see the great embarrassing clip of JD Vance rushing up to VP Harris's Air Force Two Plane on the tarmac in Wisconsin and complaining to a very silent press starring him in the face, that he'll soon be on Air Force Two Plane in three months and that she's not speaking to the press ? Talk about your favored Vance doing that, Todd.
  • Walz was already retired 2 months BEFORE his unit got the order to deploy to Iraq. This lie has already been debunked cuz his Republican opponent in the last Gubernatorial race in Minnesota tried peddling it. Y'all should stick to the facts!
  • Trump accepted the purple heart from one of his supporters and then went on stage to say he always wanted one and laughed about getting it this way was so much easier. But sure, lets attack Walz for serving 24yrs of honorable service. MAGAs have no shame.

Yes, Walz decided at age 41, with a wife and two children to support, that he would continue serving his country and veterans by running for Congress rather than deploying to a war zone. There, he served his country for 12 years and chaired the House Veterans Committee where he fought for veterans rights and benefits. Compare that to "Capt Bone Spurs" at the TOP of the ticket for the R's who avoided going to Vietnam during his physically prime years. He had no children or spouse when he dodged the draft. Compare it to the TOP of the R ticket who refused to attend a commemoration in France for U.S. soldiers and marines killed during World War One at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris ... because it was raining. Compare it to the statements of US Marine Corp General John Kelly, Trump's own Chief-of-Staff, who reported that Trump (while literally standing in Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day 2017, the place where Kelly's son was interred) turned to him as they stood in Section 60 among those killed in Afghanistan and Iraq, saying, “I don’t get it. What was in it for them?” Compare it to Trump's disparagement of a Gold Star family who lost their son in Iraq (but had the temerity to speak out against him at the Dem National Convention). Compare it to his scoffingly deriding Senator John McCain's heroism because he "liked people who were not captured by the enemy ". McCain had suffered for 5 ½ years in a Vietnamese prison, finally emerging with an arm that he could never straighten again due to his having been continuously lifted off the ground by his hands which were tied behind his back. The same Vietnam war that Trump had dodged. Compare it to Trump's calling dead soldiers "losers and suckers" because they did not find a way to avoid the draft like he had done. Somehow, I think most veterans can tell the difference between authentic reverence for service and entitled, narcissistic, derision.
