When Brent Metcalf SCREAMED at Mark Perry and Made Him Leave Practice! 🥶

Metcalf was an animal . I'm sure he rubbed a lot of teammates the wrong way in the practice room. I bet they look back now and realize how much better he made them. Not many guys have that drive and intensity to not just win, but dominate. I hope he looks back at his career and is damn proud.

Metcalf has grown so much. The maturity it takes to look back and freely acknowledge your own faults, and by extension the shortcomings of the old Iowa way, is impressive. College wrestling has evolved, the old powers of Iowa and Oklahoma State seem to have the magic recipe to burnout and losing athletes, not to winning titles and making the sport fun. I envy today's wrestlers, because back in the day just about every coach was at least trying to be an Iowa-style coach. It was almost offensive to not be that way... Evolution and enjoying the process are great for wrestling, and even more important for the athletes.
