Fun fact, if you played this game on the gameboy advance and you rage turn off the game it deletes your progress and you have to start over. Little me took a long time to beat this game.

Mario didn’t have to become a ball in this game. He’s not cursed, this isn’t a strange land that he needs to be a ball to maneuver through, he’s just choosing to make this harder for himself.

Jacob: "Hey Jo. I'm playing Mario Pinball Land." Jo: "Oh I'm sorry."

It’s funny that he says “tilting” so much, seeing as Pinball is where the term came from. “Getting Tilted,” “Hitting Full Tilt,” and “Tilting” all came from the term Pinball machines used when there was too much movement on the machine. It was an anti-cheating measure to make sure no one was shaking the machine or tilting it to maneuver the ball, and when it detected too much tilt, the machine would shut off and display “TILT” on the light up screen, indicating that it caught you cheating and would eat your money. Much like Vending Machines, people would get mad they were losing and try to shake or tilt the machine, only for it to fully cut off and they would be forced to rage quit and walk away mad. That’s why we have the term.

This game doesn't hit the same without the underwater music playing perpetually

Really Alpharad Golders will know this one
-
I finally figured out why Mc.Donalds had a Mario ball as one of its toys
-
me when im a ball. an orb. a sphere, if you will

In the climbing games, you learn how to control the character and get better. Here, you bang your head against the wall until it works. That is why this is the kids game.
-
Its a rarity to see jacob actually tilted in a game
-
Bowser making you go back 2 screens is mean as hell actually
-
This video would be better if Under the Ice was the only background music
-
if your favorite popular game series doesn't have its own pinball spinoff, is it really that good of a series?
-
I love the fact that the hardest Mario game Is just about hitting balls until you kill everything to get a star
-
This is some kind of sick vindication for my poor 4th grade self playing this on car trips. I'm glad to know it truly is as tilting as I remember
-
this is what happens when a pinball developer refuses to use scrolling-screen playfields on a portable game. thankfully their DS efforts (Metroid Prime Pinball / DSiware The Ancients Beckon) could take advantage of a great screen format for the genre

Sonic Pinball? Yeah that makes sense. Kirby Pinball? Yeah, that makes sense. Pokémon Pinball? Yeah, that makes sense. Mario Pinball? What were they thinking?

This is one of the only Mario games I’ve actually played and more importantly completed. I don’t think I’ve ever heard another person even mention this game before which is sad because I played so much of it as a kid. Notably, I actually did not understand the mechanics at all, I made it through with pure dedication to the art of ballin’

Jo(Hi Jo) would agree

“I’m playing Mario Pinball Land.” “Oh, I’m sorry.”
