Was about to give up when I pulled the actuator and the motor seemed to work fine. Then I listed to your video and heard you state that yours was working fine but fixed the problem with a replacement. I did the same with a success. I appreciate you sharing and keeping me from going down the wrong rabbit hole. Thank you!!!

Absolutely one of the best video ever on the subject. You will never believe what they want to change that on my 2011.....They call for pulling the dash.
  • I'm having almost the same issue. My actuator will switch over to defrost / face / feet / etc. but it clicks extremely loud. Thanks for the video, I'm relieved I don't have to open the dash at all like the other actuators require.
  • OMG!!! As an older (60) divorced woman who works full time and runs a mini-ranch, I have become pretty self-sufficient. I had the Mode door actuator go out on my 2010 Nissan Titan 4 years ago, and went to YouTube, found a video, which I watched a couple of times, bought the part at OReilys Auto, and installed it. Fast forward to today, and now own a 2014 Ford F150 Lariat that I bought two years ago, and lo and behold, I heard the familiar clicking again... I found your video, and had a case of déjà vu. Confirmed what I thought was wrong. I LOVED how simply you explained how to change it out! I am hoping that the part number was the number on the back side of that new Mode actuator you installed (I took a screen shot...it was 2238202). I plan to hit OReily's again tomorrow for the new actuator, and I will once again be head-first under the steering wheel changing it. Just know that if I had not done this before on a different truck, your video still would have empowered me to change it by myself on my Ford F150. Thank you for your simple, no nonsense instructions!

Great video Josh. This cleared things up for me. I wanted to know what actuator I need to replace before ordering one. It was interesting to hear what the other actuators control. Also pretty cool to see them in action after you had the new one installed. Thank you!!
  • This is one of the best videos I have seen thank you so much😮

Great Video, most videos are for heat blend door, I have this same problem, so happy I'm not taking the dash apart for heat blend door!!! You should change the title of this video and you will probably get a ton of more hits!!! THANK YOU, maybe AC Dash, defrost, floor mode actuator. Just trying to help!!! Thanks again
  • This is exactly what I was looking for thank you for your video

  • You answered so many questions I had with this video, i was getting so confused at the parts store with the actuators as I didn't know there was also a mode door actuator. My blend door actuator had broken, but this helps clear it up so much!
  • Thanks to your video, I fixed the air in my 2012 f150. Thanks, bro!

Great video. Anyone seeing this first before removing actuator, it's super easy to get to if you move the gas pedal. 3 13mm bolts and you can just move the pedal out of the way to get to the 2 8mm bolts. Super easy and saves so much time.

Excellent Video! Thanks for posting that diagram. My recirc is out... and the Mode damper controls only work in the Defrost and Floor modes.
