Grew up on a farm. We had two ponds. One cold night we were woken up by lowing. Every cow we had was at the fence, calling for help. We went out and the led us to our far pond, a baby had been born and fell in the pond. It was trying to climb out. The pond was deep and my brother tried to jump in and push him out, but to no avail. My grandpa got the tractor and my brother wrapped the rope around the baby, while my sister and I gathered towels. When we got back they had him out. You could tell our cows, all of them were happy especially his mama! They saved little Flipper all of them, they asked for help, I’ll never forget it.

Isn’t it cool how animals in need of help just know humans are capable of helping. Don’t let them down.

I had a similar experience with a sheep once when I was young. She was bleating outside the farmhouse we were staying in on holiday. She actually even came indoors when we left the door open, which is why I got a bit curious as none of the other sheep had behaved like that. I followed her and she led me to her little lamb who had gotten herself caught in some fencing. Thankfully no injuries, just trapped and distressed. Once I freed the lamb they both took off, but the mother looked back to say a silent thank you... It was so heartwarming to know that the momma did everything she could to protect her little girl and I'm glad I was there to help.

It's amazing how animals in distress seem to sense that humans can assist them. Let's make sure we don't disappoint them.

Dave cares. And that's what this world needs a whole lot more of.
-
I think we're gonna find in time that animals know a lot more than we are aware of.

Any day that you can save a life is an awesome day! Thank you!!! 😊

Loved hearing how soft & calmly he spoke, reassuring the mother. Just beautiful. Good Man, well done. JaneR

This is the most intelligent thing ! They can't speak but she was truly trying her best to communicate with him and thankful for his help !
-
The way she looked at him when he walked away "I will remember you"

Animals, all animals, have emotions. Treat them well. They are not human but they still feel love, feel loss, feel fear, feel betrayal, and feel joy.
-
We need as many Dave’s in the world as we can get.

They totally recognized him, the mother even looks like she is telling him thank you at the end. So cool!

When I was kid we used to have a cow which I loved to play with. Due to some disease she died and I still remember that we were mourning her death like losing a family member. Once you are touched with animals you will become soft hearted human

i love seeing humans helping animals instead of hurting them.

Thank you Dave for being there at the right place, right time, it's awful when you see animals in distress.
-
That long stare from the mother cow at the end feels like "I thank you" to me

I lived on a farm and I had a pet cow. She would come when I called her and would give kisses. She was the sweetest animal ever, cows are very smart and trusting!

That's awesome, Dave. What a kind man you are, to figure it out, and to help. Cows are incredibly loving, and intelligent.
