As the safety of jurors in Donald Trump's New York criminal trial become an important focus ahead of opening statements on Monday, another person put at risk by Trump's impulsive belligerence is Trump himself as his lawyers consider whether to put him on the witness stand. NBC News correspondent Vaughn Hillyard and former Manhattan prosecutor Catherine Christian discuss concerns about the jury and whether there's any way that Donald Trump testifying isn't a bad idea.

In my opinion the media should also be under a gag order regards the jurors details, as right now they are being as careless with the safety of these people as Trump.
Publishing myriad details regards them and only omitting their names is wrong. The media may argue 'the public have a right to know', but to what end and how is it truly relevant?
  • @tbd-5160
This is Cartel behavior. How ironic.
  • THE FOUNDING FATHERS HAD DEMOCRACY IN MIND, NOT PRO-RUSSIAN AGENTS IN THE U,S. CONGRESS.
  • Any country with a properly functioning legal system, no person is above the law, could sort this very quickly by holding the defendant in a prison cell instead of allowing him to make a mockery of the process…get a grip America.
  • "IT" HAS CONSTANT PROTECTION AT OUR TAX EXPENSE, SO SHOULDTHE JURORS!
  • @Cj-mj4xg
Maybe you shouldn't put their details out?
  • The safety of a juror sounds like a gangster's trial of the 1920s.
  • WHY is it necessary for the defense or the prosecution to know the names of the jurists?? Once they are investigated, they have only ONE JOB!!
  • How can ANY American consider themselves a patriot while threatening the safety of jurors. And how can America consider itself a nation of law and order when it allows the defendant to keep behaving like this.
  • If ever there was a case that screams out for the maximum sentence being handed down, this one is it. He has broken and or twisted every law and rule imaginable.
  • I dislike that the media is even showing the juror's jobs; people have been traced with less information than even that limited knowledge.
  • @lynnhughes
STOP sharing info about the jurors. As in there jobs.
  • Those jurors should definitely get protection, if they want to.
  • Isn't it time we take The People's needs into consideration instead of coddling the criminal defendant?
  • tip to the jury:
    if Trump glares at you,
    GLARE BACK!!
his poor little, shriveled up, "mushroom" ego will NOT be able to handle it!!
  • @antonyware
If MSNBC cares so much about jury safety, then why don’t you all stop hunting down an every juror that’s dismissed to question them about everything related to the trial, what they saw from other jurors, what Trump looked like and other pointless interview moments with them. Leave juror identities ALONE and stop trying to get them on camera to talk about nonsense!
  • Why does the media keep talking about the jury and giving out information about them....stop talking about them and revealing bits of information about them.
  • Shows how little confidence he and his lawyers believe they have in his being innocent. A number of us know his racist, fraudulent past and his con man reputation. Many of us recognize his running for office is his “get out of jail card” ploy that he has used all of his
    life.

If you intimidate a witness or jury in the UK you can be sent to prison for up to 5 years ( law of 1994).
In the US it appears that intimidation is perfectly acceptable!!😞
