In this video, I'm going to give you a full cabin tour of my Studio inside cabin, onboard Norwegian Escape. This ship was actually my first ever cruise ship, and so it was SO great to be back onboard for this cruise!

I spend 7 nights in this cabin, cruising out of New York City, to New England and Canada. In this video, let me talk to you in detail about the cabin, following my embarkation to the ship in NYC. It's clear that this is among the smallest cruise ship cabins, but I do think it's really clever what Norwegian have managed to do with the space in here. Let me show you around!

A number of Norwegian ships feature this cabin type. If you would like to know more, and learn about the Studio Lounge and the other facilities on offer from NCL, head over to my channel and check out my full review of NCLs solo proposition.

Let me know - what do you think - would you cruise in this cabin?

i think giving a solo traveller an anniversary cake is absolutely hilarious and mind bogling lol.

I am so glad I found your video! I have been considering an NCL solo cruise and your review was super helpful!

Fraser I realize you filmed this a while back but wanted to chime in because I disembarked from NCL Bliss a few weeks ago. I stayed in the solo cabin. I have been on about 15 cruises of many different lines and this time really I just couldn’t get comfy and settled in with this cabin. I’m glad I tried it so now I know that I really need to just book an inside and look for a deal. I did meet a few solo travelers who booked inside cabins and they actually paid less than me. I think it all boils down to the availability, etc.

Great review. I've been curious about these cabins.

I'm booked in one of these babies in May. It all seems fine except for the toilet stall. I hope my big ass will be comfortable in such a confined space.
  • Thanks Fraser! It works but not for balcony loving me. Plus those clothes hangers would drive me crazy. 😂

I'm so glad I found your video! I'll be in one of those solo cabins in Europe soon. I'm curious about the noise level in them. Is there much traffic where they are located? Thank you in advance for any info.

While the window is... er, interesting (do you really want to look at an interior corridor?), I much prefer the version on Bliss/Encore/Prima/Viva where that space is a virtual window connected to an exterior camera. It's not the same as natural light but it'll do! The WC is claustrophobic but hey, I'm alone in the cabin, I leave the door open. People are wary of the tiny cabin size but it's well designed.
  • Thanks for this 😊 It's very helpful 😊. I went on my first cruise this past December on the NCL Gem. I'm a solo traveler and got a great last minute deal on a balcony, it is as only $150 more than the interior (no studios on that ship) I've been looking at this and your video has been very informative. Thanks. No fridge though, that's a bummer.

I like this NCL solo studio and private lounge. It looks good and better than MSC studio. Thanks for posting.

I thought it was nice, especially if the price is right. Who stays in their room very long anyway. The lighting was cool.
  • @tamiw1903
In the USA we'd call that room an "efficiency " especially if it had a galley kitchen... still no fridge... nice functional room though....
  • @wendingourway
I think I'd do a whole lot better in this one than the one of MSC. At least there is a fixed bed...and a bonus CAKE!! lol Bruce and Otis
  • @stephenm8818
Thanks for this Fraser, is the window wall and the bed head wall, padded as it appears? Comfy enough to sit against? 😂

Solo cabins, meaning cabins actually designed for one person, usually suck, usually inside, never a balcony. I just book a regular cabin and pay the double price, or usually its a little bit less than double. Norwegian Escape one looks like a padded cell, maybe instead of a robe you get a straight jacket....for your safety so you don't hurt yourself lol
  • @Phyrelight
interesting that there is no minifridge?
  • @tonylarussa4046
It's about the size of a room in a transient hotel in NYC. You probably didn't pay as much as a transient hotel in NYC is charging!
  • @JChang0114
Much rather get a balcony even if it cost double traveling by myself.
