Debbie sings “oh your hair is beautiful” like hers and our lives depend on it 😍 One of the great pop songs!!!

This track is so unique. I don't think anything like it has been made before or since.

Debbie Harry is the only person who could wear a black plastic garbage bag and make it look good. "Eat to the Beat" is such a great album. Bought it on vinyl when it first came out (just graduated high school) and I was absolutely stunned by it. Literally played it until it was shot. Dreaming, Shayla and Union City Blue are some more great ones from it.

I love the synth the bass the guitar, And the drums. This is by far the best Blondie song and one of the best songs EVER made

Had a massive teenage crush on Debbie Harry in the late 70s. There are many things about my younger self that I could curse about all day long but damn he had good taste.

I'm 21 and I've met the drummer from blondie, probably one of the soundest guys you'll ever meet.

Among many firsts that Blondie achieved was that they were the first band to record and release a video album of their lp Eat to the Beat from which Atomic is taken. The video is supposed to be about after blast freaks. It was meant to be the last disco record! The band said the track was lying around like a dead fish until they added the spaghetti western guitar which gives it the distinctive sound. Also she's wearing a trash bag lol.

At last! I've be so waiting for someone to react to this. One of my all time favourites! Amazing song! As you have such good taste in music, my gift to you is Fine Young Cannibals - Jonny come home. No-one on youtube has done it yet. Enjoy!

'79 mescalin...your hair is beautiful. Atomic. Shivers. Now, today even shivers, decades later.
  • Hey, Dereck! Fun fact: The "jacket" that Debbie Harry wore in the Atomic video was made out of a bin bag. Also, you are right when you mention the Western movie sound of Atomic because precisely that was one of the inspirations behind Atomic.

Debbie Harry was a game changer. Before her, there were no glamour rock goddesses who were as beautiful as the music they created.
