  • Love how the CEO invited all the devs to view his new cars. And fired them 2 days later. Either the greatest gigachad ever or a world class asshole.
  • The Bungie everyone loves and remembers died when they separated from Halo and went under Activision.
  • @Zeetkt
They lost my trust and I stopped playing when they removed the campaign we paid for. That's theft, literally.
  • Sony HAS to step in and remove the ceo. Dude can’t manage money and his company.
  • @SKizzleAXE
The bungie CEO was buying cars like it was some GTA Online update 😂
  • Its crazy how they're firing all of these people when 1.2 billion of that 3.3 billion they received from Sony was for employee retention. I wonder what Bungie did to spend all that money, (the employee retention money specifically).

Couldn't have happened to a worse studio. Remember when they deleted content millions of people paid for? Sure the Red War, Year 1 DLCs and Forsaken might not all have been bangers but it still was content people spent their hard earned money on with the expectations that it wasn't time limited.
  • The studio that started Destiny wasnt the studio that finished it. The staff changed so much that the game was set to die as soon as it lost it initial direction.
  • @GothPaoki
I don't even feel bad for bungie considering how they ended up full of clowns who constantly bashed the players and underdelivered repeatedly.
  • @AMycroWave
when they started removing payed dlc content that's when I gave up on the game
  • @woonam
Hot take, it's good they got rid of Luke Smith, the guy that could never figure out what kind of game Destiny was going to be, which is why the game was always flip flopping in mechanics in the first game and why things like classes and light had to be reworked so many times. People also assumed that Bungie was going to make Destiny good after leaving Blizzard Activision, but the game became more predatory after leaving, with players losing content as expansions released. Bungie was always bad
  • I love how Asmon says the CEO has to take accountability for bad decisions, when the absolute worst outcome for him it probably getting fired with a gigantic payoff. The individual workers end up taking more accountability when the CEO screws up than the CEO himself.
  • Pay 3.6 billion for a studio that loses money. Its not even worth taking over its debt.

They had an entire narrative team who spent over a year rewriting lore and characters to make them gay and then write a seasonal story about their love story.. They had an internal dating app for employees that got leaked and went away.. like let’s just be honest, they had a lot of people that served no role.

5:10 the point people are making is that if the CEO really cares about whether or not the company is making money, why is it that everyone else gets sacrificed while the executives get increases, or at least remain unaffected? It seems to me that the leader of the company should also be prepared to sacrifice for the good of the company, no?
  • @AChunkyDog
Here's what people who don't work don't understand: Layoffs happen when production decreases and the company is overstaffed for current supply and demand. Additionally, Bungie has had to take on DEI hires. Unproductive, problematic employees get the boot.
  • Im one of the idiots that got d2 forsaken only to have bungie remove access to it later and leave me with nothing for the money i payed them. So i am actually super happy to see them fall and hope the company gets closed.
  • @MlnscBoo
Marathon is going to tank, they know it's going to tank, and they're freaking out
  • @Kaiser8361N
One of the developers was playing with some streamers for the new raid like last month and for the Endgame cutscene before the final mission one of the streamers asked the dev “how much money does a cutscene like this cost?” “Uhhh…no comment” it cracked me up at the time, but now I’m genuinely curious how much it cost
  • Destiny 3 wasn't even in Development. They were making Some 3rd person Spin-off game that takes place in the Destiny universe Supposedly.
