Its Never Been A Better Time To Buy The Art From The Artist!
  • The thing that they are not addressing when it comes to the model is Youtube is free to upload. Music distribution in most cases for indie artists is not free. If I pay for a storefront, I want all revenue generated no matter how small.... Keep preaching the gospel Curtiss.

Love, love LOOOOOVE the audacity of the music industry right now. All this going to do is allow the creme to rise to their independent levels even more naturally. Love it, love it, LOVE IT! Shoutout to all the independent artists! 🙏🏿🎧

Idk why but I find this whole situation super inspiring. Them making the robbery clearer is only gonna drive more ppl to support the true innovators directly.
  • I feel like I can easily generate 17 streams per month but the fact that Spotify is cutting out smaller artists is a painful reality

I don’t really like using Spotify as a music listener. And I’m a music creator and performer and I’m about to finish my studio album, man hearing this makes me not even want to upload it on Spotify. You are right, I’d rather sell CDs hand to hand and digital downloads on iTunes than have to depend on something like Spotify.

What I am hoping ( And waiting ) for is a Napster moment in the streaming industry and if Spotify don't learn.. let them be MySpace 🤞🏾
  • @ArchThaBoss
They basically said 80% of artist who don’t/can’t meet the threshold are slave laborers and they’re gonna take the little bit of money this do make and give it to other people. This should be illegal honestly. I stopped using Spotify a long time ago

Music has been around why longer than Spotify, Spotify will suffer as a business, the Musician on the other hand will just move on to the next best thing
  • @StreetCars101TV
This is why I always said, "artist need to get back to selling music on their websites only". If you go back to the old way it will fix all of this, less music on people's playlists but music they chose. Artists will have to get back on their ground but it would fix all of this

People should figuring out how to create their own streaming Services the DIY WAY, my advice would be to start your own website an sell your products on your own website to get the full commission for their work of ownership, the LaRussell Way.
  • It's not too different than how YouTube will not pay unless you earn over $100. The difference is, YouTube told Partners upfront, Spotify are now changing the rules after the fact.

This is a great service, you do to the music community, should keep a session weekly dedicated just to financial aspect for producers and singers.
  • @realjravage2871
This is why artist and producers have to find other ways to make money because unless you get a lot of streams a month to make a decent living is almost impossible. With just streaming alone.
  • I think I’ll be pulling my catalogue from Spotify, Amazon, and Apple. I’m tired of investing thousands of dollars into a product that helps these companies profit but earns me no returns. Apparently I have nothing to lose but "the chance to make it," so why keep playing my hand at a table rigged against me.

It's really messed up what Spotify about to do to all us independent artists. But that's our fault for loading our music to their platform and making them super rich with our music. And all we get is crumbs of cents per streams. I do have an idea how to beat their way of cheating us of our art. Listen why don't we all have our own website and just upload all your music thru your website only and only allow fans to download it instead of streaming it. You let the fans pay whatever they think the track is worth. I think that's a fair deal. The fans win and so does the artist. So what yall think? We must make a difference and start doing something about how all these platforms are all making millions of our music why we get nothing for our works.
  • @GrandT343
Indy's need to go direct to consumers. They are being ripped off.
  • @sxmmnz8852
If all the Platforms start doing this, this might be the thing that will bring Physicals back cause this is crazy
