They were partners in crime. Midge, the world's smallest police dog, and Sheriff Dan McClelland, worked together for years to keep Geauga County in Ohio safe. Midge, a rat terrier Chihuahua, was by McClelland's side for 16 years. He was a 44-year veteran of the force, and a decade of that time was spent working with Midge. But the story of Midge and McClelland took a sad turn recently when McClelland passed away after a bout with cancer. Midge, at home, passed away on the very same day. #InsideEdition

She was an elderly dog. The stress of losing him killed her. It’s kind of beautiful that neither had to be without the other for long.

When my daughter died in a freak accident, her poodle, Chocolate, died out of nowhere a few days later (my daughter was almost 4 years old. Her puppy was about 1 human year)... Animals have a VERY deep connection.

Reminds me of my grandpa. When my grandma fell into a coma, he aged ten years in two weeks, very little exaggeration. She died on a Friday and he followed her that Sunday. Makes me want to believe in something.

My beloved Pomeranian died at the age of 17. I tell ya, that was the hardest most sad event of my life. I dont have human children, so she WAS my child. For about 2 weeks after she passed all I did was sleep and cry. I didn't want to eat much and I didn't go to work. It's been 11 years since she passed and I still am getting choked up. I have her cremated ashes in an Urn that WILL be buried with me when I pass. In this video, MIDGE just wanted to be with her daddy and so she went 🌬🐶🌠 I completely understand ❤🐾
