The reason March gets its own notification is because that's when crop fields can start being planted again (and its recommended that during the winter months when crops don't grow, you disable the fields to free up the farmers for other work, and then in March reassign them). Also you don't need a Quarry to gather stone; stone is available on the map to be gathered the same way wood is. The Quarry is for mid to late game when you've exhausted all nearby stone nodes and need a longer-lasting single area source of stone and have the population to work in it.

This is just Banished (2014) by Shining Rock Studios, but I’m glad to see the concept more fleshed out with updated visuals
