Hey tin man I got a carburetor for that 385 and some other parts and pieces
-
You get that 385 running good You'll put your other saws on the sidelines , 385 is the only saw I used when I logged in the northeast PA
-
Need a ironhorse an tinman collab video on turd polishing Haha
-
2186 and 2188 jonsered parts will match up ! Most of engine parts will work! Great old saws! I don't think you will be disappointed
-
Tinman congratulations on you newborn baby

Also scrap the 576 clutch drum, it engages lovely but after a week of running you’ll notice that it cuts the arm on the oil pump drive because it has two pegs as appose to the notches in the 372/390 clutch drum. It is the backlash from reviewing the saw up and down and the clutch slows down faster than the worm gear then the clutch speeds up faster than the worm gear on the way up in the revs. That saw is well worth throwing good bucks on because they are rippers!

Got a 385 in 2004 and it still screams through the wood.

The grip inserts are the same as the Jonsered 630 if that helps. I am positive that the rubber mount that the air horn sits on is the same as the 372. Mate of mine runs 390’s and I’ve had one on the bench a couple of times now. I have used both 390 and 385 and found that the 90 vibrates a bit more and noticed that it likes rattling screws out. Donny Walker said it a while ago and he is right. Good videos Mate 👍🏻

I'd give up my 372s for a couple of 385 saws
-
I believe those and the 390 are pretty close handle inserts carbs and what not
-
Jonsered 2186 ,2188, 385, 390 are basically all the same saws
-
That wrap looks as good as that 394 sounds.

Love my 385xp. Had it for about 5 years, I run a 32” Oregon with a full house. It’s got mild cyl porting and a ported pipe. Quite a few people badmouth the 385, but it’ll keep up with if not beat my 395!

Shes comin right in huh!!!. Have a good weekend

385... awesome! I don't see many of them at all. Interesting to see the differences between it and the bigger brothers that are the 390, 394 and 395. Very cool. Also I just want to say that I hope you were able to continue not smoking. Wish you the best with that. How is the little one? Hope all is well with the family. I know I am just a stranger but we all watch you on youtube and even though you don't know me I have gotten to know you and only hope the best for ya. Great video Tinman. Love your stuff.

I liked the 385 better than 390 I’ve done hundreds of those if you need parts I might have a few things for the new dad tinman🎉
-
Tinman, looking forward to the build bro. I have just built a ported one here In NZ, you will like it. Mine was strong stock. Cheers
-
Haven't even seen a 385 in person. Looks pretty compact for its size class! Excited to learn more about it👍🏻
-
Love the 394 surprise appearance

I run a ported 385xp with 28" and 36" bars it rips. They are kinda a black sheep, but I like mine can't even tell ya how much wood it's cut. I cut around 20 cord of fire wood a year. Good luck with it I think you'll like it when you get it done.
