    It's the same in Japan; it is next to impossible to find garbage cans. Only place to find one is outside convenience stores. Recently though, I think the situation is getting better; they have started to introduce garbage cans in tourist spots.

    trash sorting is cumbersome but it keeps the waste manageable at the collecting points. Ofcourse its expensive!
