Sadly, lots of shops out there are not competent nor honest. Youā€™re the exception. Nice work, Dave.

Dave please please please keep doing videos like this. Make them longer.

I grew up with Daveā€™s boys and his family nothing but amazing people. They know motorsā¤ļøā¤ļø

It's so nice to hear a vehicle repair facility that really cares about customer service. Honesty goes a long way with me, and that's where I'll go to have my vehicle serviced. Even if it costs more. That's called "piece of mind".
  • Hooked after the first video. Knowledge , humility, not afraid to tell people what needs to be done the right way. Your empathy is backed by morals and standards , a lot of which people lack in all industries.

Dave, Been Diagnosing and repairing vehicles for 47 years. Couldnt agree more.
  • Always nice to tell your customers "This steering pump replacement is a 4hr job that you will on;y need to pay 1.5 on because we are there." Always nice when the customer hears that big money difference and will usually be more tempted to take advantage of it. Good Sales Advisor Training Note

This is quickly becoming my favorite mechanical YouTube channel. Very well filmed / edited together and Daveā€™s shop looks like a place Iā€™d happily bring any of my vehicles

One of the main things I deal with is customers not telling the whole truth...but as we disassemble you can always see what the previous shop has done or no maintenance whatever. Be honest as a customer and shop and always try to find the best solution for everyone. Thanks for the awesome video Dave and Team!

Love seeing Dave go over the work with the new guy. Shows how thorough and knowledgeable he is. Love the content! Wish I could pull a motor in less than 7 hours!

Many many shops will just fake things, say it needs to be replaced. Customers are so gun shy. Dave we love you and think you do the good works. It's hard to find the pepper in the fly poop. You can only suggest to do what you would do on your own gear. It's so tough to encourage them to do the same. I'm DIY just about anything and it's refreshing to hear the simple answers to the problems. Do what you can when it's all apart and don't cry later if you didn't do it and it fails. I encourage just about all the preventative as you won't cry as much if it fails.

I just spent the last year rebuilding my parents first company truck. Itā€™s a 2001 Ford 7.3 and I absolutely love the truck. Iā€™ve never pulled apart an engine in my life and am always looking to push myself and try new things so I went and tore the engine down to the bare block, resealed and replaced everything I could to build it back up to continue to be the reliable work horse it always has been. Seeing work done like this on that motor makes me sad. I may have never done significant engine work in my life but I made sure to look up every torque spec, YouTube video, service data I could possibly find on how to properly do the work I needed to do. I missed things here and there and exposed some problems I didnā€™t see at first but over time I fixed all of those issues and any problem I created I took money from my own pocket to fix it. I want to take pride in my work that I do and to do it right the first time and if I donā€™t, make sure I make it right in any way I can. Everyone will make mistakes, Iā€™m only 25 and I have definitely made mistakes but Iā€™ve learned so much from those mistakes so in the future I can do the best I possibly can. When I finish my current company projects I plan to do my biggest project yet, an actual cab off engine and body swap with some beat up trucks to make one really good work truck for myself to use. I have big plans and videos like these from you guys gives me the confidence to really push myself and just see what I can do, keep learning and keep helping anyone I can. Actions always speak louder than words and I sure have thought about just giving it all up and going back to some 9-5 but Iā€™ve stuck it through and kept at it. Cheers Dave and crew!
  • being in the business i really enjoy the customer phone calls. i feel like i learn something every time.i see you cut a part out. id like to hear that part where you give them the bad news and how you displayed that to the customer and such! (when possible of course)

I just had a snowmobile repaired. It cost twice as much as the original estimate ( That was a Loose estimate so no harm ) I wanted it done right. Itā€™s older machine 2004 . I bought it used from a friend , looks showroom condition and very low miles. So I have more in the machine than I should but I plan to keep it forever. Point is things came up and it was the time to do it , most importantly I he wanted to do it right and I wanted it done right. I am simply grateful for a very high quality shop.

I love the way you explain to the customers the truth about bad their vehicles are when you guys pull out a motor! It's always better to be transparent and let the customers know the situation and they will maje de decision about how much they love their vehicle! God bless you Dave and your great guys up there working with you too šŸ™šŸ¾ I love to wath your videos guys and learn more about trucks, motors and transmissions. Oscar here from Jalapa Guatemala šŸ¤™šŸ¾
  • I really appreciate the interactions with the customers, within these videos. Whether they are good or bad.

Love ur videos, I have an lbz, the best duramax before all the smog junk was added, still stock with 365000 on it, just had the head gaskets replaced, man that was a cost, but worth every penny. The shop recommended studding the heads instead of bolts, and I approved, while in there they recommended a few other items as well , I also approved those. A shop in Fontana ca. the only shop that is allowed to work on my truck. Just like ur shop I trust what they say. My truck is a 3500 HD dually with the Allison trans. Great truck. They rebuild injectors in-house, that is the biggest part of their business. Great place. Trusting ur mechanics is everything

Our 2010 Jeep needed AC work. After pulling the dash, they found a bat in the evaporator, but they recommended changing the heater core while it was open and to change the blend door gasket. I appreciated the foresight and honesty.
