I love that the comments here are still mostly from nearly a decade ago. I miss that old KH community of emo kids that would wax poetic, inspired by the games to look into its themes deeply. Just the fact that the games resonated with so many people and challenged their thinking.

I think the fact that there's metropolis buildings in the world of nobodies is significant as it could be a metaphor for our society, that we are nobodies trying to be somebody, trying to feel and trying to be real and just recognised as a being of independent thought, however we go too far or hurt people in the process of this desire

every time this song plays I always think to myself, "this is it! I've come too far and there's no turning back..."
  • Best endgame area ever. Absolutely fantastic music....the battles, all the drama....plus I get my boy Riku back. I spent hours and hours running from the very top near the final fight all the way back down levelling needlessly and fighting constantly just to have Riku with me for hours!

I love this mysterious City. I love that sacred Moon. I love the somber Castle. But most importantly... I love the vividly dark everything that Nothing is. Truly, this song defines that serenity and peace that only comes from this World That Never Was.

A long time fan of this unique game, not only does this music give me major nostalgia but it takes me back to a period in my life where I was in the "beautiful" dark night of the soul, alone to myself for so long, I'd watch the moonlight from my window every night and play my keyboard in solitude.. This music tells a story of the soul journey of earth and the path taken through the darkness and into the light, never giving up to finding the true love in your heart reaching oneness and unity that you once shared with someone.... Trying to figure out who I was and my place in this world was something of many that started my spiritual journey to embrace the dawn ahead and now being 22 I look back at the past couple years and what a journey it has been and where I am now is quite interesting...

Kingdom Hearts... It's like the loss of innocence. You think the world is great and so full of light when you are a kid... But as you grow older you realise just how dark it really is.
  • I’ll never forget the feeling I had playing through this game for the first time and arriving here. The beautiful and haunting melody of this song still gives me goosebumps and chills. Such a killer music score.

This is one of the best Videogame worlds ever! It totally represents the Nobodies: A world that looks alive (Buildings with lit windows) but in fact is dead and hollow (when you slash the building in the final battle they are solid and dead inside).

Deep Voice: Where a parallel time exist in  absence...where reality and nothingness coexist as the shadows, void of life roams...this is...The World that Never was....how dismal.
  • @zeldahearts1337
You have the peppy Disney worlds and then... then there's this. The music has a deep, threatening, primal beat to it that just screams that something is wrong, ESPECIALLY when paired with the eerie choir that's several octaves above that just seems to mock your title as a hero of the worlds. The piano emphasizes how empty and soulless this place is. Then the beat just cuts off, leaving the choir to have a spine-tingling solo. THIS WORLD IS BEAST.

Welcome in my world... The world that never was.
  • @ximenos7383
All worlds begin in darkness, and all so end. The heart is no different. Darkness sprouts within it--- it grows, consumes it. Such is its nature. In the end, every heart returns to the darkness whence it came.
  • @LazyPeanut01
Am i the only on thinking... "Who lives in those buildings anyway?" like is a family of neoshadows just sitting in there drinking tea eating cookies and watching sitcoms?
  • @lightyoshiman
my god this song is great I would eather pause the game or just run around to listen to this and when I stare at kingdom hearts I always feel like I'm in a trance
  • @GrumpoNeo
@lightyoshiman I left my game paused for 16 hours in this world. Then I fell asleep to it, and left it on for another 9 hours. I woke up to it just as it started again, and I smiled. This song is perfect.
