Colter Wall // "Bob Fudge" - Live from the Back Pasture

2019-11-22に共有
Colter Wall's voice rings out in the back pasture for this incredible rendition of "Bob Fudge," written by Ian Tyson. Huge thanks to Colter for taking the time to share his time and talents with us at the back pasture, around the bend from the Red Ants Pants Music Festival!

  • I thought I hated country music, turns out I just hated the commercial trash they try to feed you. Colter Wall, Cash, Jennings, Haggard ill listen to all day!
  • When he pauses and sings “when I first saw Montana...” it gives me chills every time

This song makes me homesick for a place I’ve never been to.
  • It’s rare you get to see a legend evolve in the flesh before their tale is written, stamped, and told. God given natural talent, endless practice, or a few trips to the crossroads I don’t know.... doesn’t really matter, but comparing him to Cash doesn’t quite capture his sound. One day when they say the name Colter Wall people will pause and know...This fella is on his way to becoming one of the greatest country singers ever.
  • Just what we need, more Western and less Dirt roads, daisy dukes, and Jack Daniels in country music

A whole mans life in 5 minutes shows the beautiful simplicity of life in the old west.
  • This song leaves me wanting for a time long passed and a place I can never go.

I wasn’t into country music when Cash was alive. I missed all of Hank’s life. But this.. Colter Wall. The songs. The voice. The presentation and the pride in where he’s from... Saskatchewan of all places. I’m happy to say I’m witnessing this. As another comment said, one day the name “Colter Wall” will be said and heads will nod.. respect and smiles for what he did for music, and especially country / western music, will be poured. Thank you, Colter. Keep em comin.
  • This young man will be the biggest thing in country music, and you can take that to the bank.
  • LYRICS! My name is Bob Fudge I was born in Texas Lampasas county back during the war Small pox and Comanches took most of my family Left my poor mother, my brothers and me So I headed North to ride for the blockers They were contracting herds for the Montan(a) range In the Spring of the year 82 we left old Lampasas With 2, 000 steers for the Little Bighorn Crossing our trails there were many great rivers All to be crossed not a bridge would we find In the cold rolling waters and the wild punching cattle There was many a young man took leave of his life Well we crossed at Doan's store into the Indian nation Saw the blood on the rocks where those cowboys had died Then it's on Fort Dodge on the Arkansas River Where gamblers and whores all welcomed us there And the great snowcapped peaks they were on our left side now For many miles in the great silent land When I first saw Montana, I knew I would love her I would ride her great ranges til the end of my days But she's all cut and dry now and the trails are all gone I've been in Yellowstone Park in an automobile But I can still see em swimming, boys I can still hear em running I came off of the trails when cowboys was king My name is Bob Fudge I died in Montana
  • i dont hear a voice that is measured by a comparison to others but a voice that compares to no one else and is measured only by itself. keep being you Colter
