In Ruben Östlund’s wickedly funny Palme d’Or winner, social hierarchy is turned upside down, revealing the tawdry relationship between power and beauty. Celebrity model couple, Carl (Harris Dickinson) and Yaya (Charlbi Dean), are invited on a luxury cruise for the uber-rich, helmed by an unhinged boat captain (Woody Harrelson). What first appeared instagrammable ends catastrophically, leaving the survivors stranded on a desert island and fighting for survival.

  • I work a customer service job on the upper west side of New York, and this is about to be my favorite film ever

Watched this at its premiere in Cannes and let me tell you, in a theatre full of 1,000+ rich privileged people, there wasn't a single moment of this film which wasn't getting uproarious reactions from the audience. And after a 12-minute standing ovation, I'm guessing most people went for dinner on their private yacht in Cannes and completely missed the point of the film, which tragically reinforces Ostlund's and the film's genius.
  • When the movie hits the 2 hour mark and you go "I wish this were a tv show so it wouldn't end" you know it's a good movie.
  • RIP Charlbi Dean. So sad she passed away so young just when this movie is debuting. And it looks brilliant. I cannot wait to watch it!! I love how so many other countries have the courage and obviously creative license to make movies like this, that clearly speak real truths and do so with cutting humor. This kind of film would never be made anymore in the US, and that is sad.

This is the kind of movie that makes you believe in real cinema and to feel excited and luxurious to buy a ticket and pop corn any given afternoon of any given week after work.
  • The one who said "This is bad, this is really, really bad" is an underrated actress in the Philippines. Proud Filipino here! 🇵🇭
  • Just watched this movie. It lasts for more than two hours but I forgot about the time and was caught with the sudden ending. The true cinematography. I loved all the soundtracks, from recognizable radio hits to the metal song and the amazing edm song in the end! I just loved it. And what a sad loss of the leading actress...

JUST WATCHED LAST NIGHT, ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES I'VE SEEN, the plot, the twists, the acting, the music, everything was so perfect
  • the trailer tilting back and forth to resemble a rocking boat is a brilliant touch👏🏾

As someone who worked on a luxury cruise ships i can say this is so true and this always say yes to the guest is just creating monsters from people, the more thay complain, more they get from the ship
  • Totally deserved Best Picture Nominee!! RIP Charlbi Dean. YaYa will always be remembered.
  • @lonelyone
This just immediately jumped to the top of my “to watch” list. It says to see it with the biggest crowd possible, but I fear that it won’t be released theatrically where I live.
  • Force Majeure, The Square, and now Triangle of Sadness. I wish Ruben Östlund was my geometry and physics teacher in high school lol.

“Well then, in that case, we will clean the sails!” should be the battle cry for those of us in the service industry. 😆
  • I first wanted to see this film for it's quirky satire and it's warning to the ultra-rich, now I'll see it because we lost a star which is her breakout role which is forever lost. Thank you Charlbi and we all look forward to seeing your amazing performance on the big screen. 1990-2022

I know of a couple who are very wealthy and privileged, who spoke about their experience of seeing this movie and they said it was “terrible” and they “didn’t get it”. I was immediately sold and enjoyed every minute of it.
  • RIP Charlbi Dean. I’ll watch this movie knowing you put your heart into it
  • Just watched it at the New Zealand International Film Festival. THAT sequence provided one of the most vocal audience reactions I’ve heard in a while, the second act conclusion is just incredible stuff
  • @SINYC02
This movie was fantastic. Easily one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time.
  • I'M 50 AND I SAW PRETTY MUCH MY FAIR SHARE OF some of the GREATEST MOVIES in history of cinematography, BUT THIS MASTERPIECE IS YOUR COMPLETELY NEW EXPERIENCE, THAT INTELLECTUALLY AND SOCIALLY TOOK ME TO A BRAND NEW LEVEL OF CRITICISM AND THINKING. And so it will you, if you give it a chance. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, we needed this movie in 2022 more than ever ! <3 One great accolade is not enough, Grand Prix d'Or at Cannes film festival, I'd give it 1000 highest prizes for cinematic experience and all Oscars at the cademy award....
