Boarding the NCL Prima

Published 2024-01-26
We were excited about boarding the NCL Prima in Galveston until we found out that it is the lowest rated ship in the NCL Fleet. Come join us as we board this Norwegian Cruise Lines Cruise Ship and find out whether we should be excited or terrified of this cruise.

Our Recommended Cabin Gear
-----OREI American to European Plug Adapters—So many cruise ships are equipped with 220 European plugs which are useless unless you have the right adapter. These are what are in our bags every time we cruise or travel to Europe. They come in an affordable six pack which you can find at this link: amzn.to/44ixS0U
----Strongman Tools Strong Magnetic Hooks—A couple of these 6 pack set of hooks are always with us when we cruise. Each individual hook can hold 30lbs of weight and is ideal for hanging coats, hats, and even the hangings shelves described below . Get your set of these useful magnetic hooks at this link: amzn.to/3UDrVbJ
-----Whitmor 5 Section Closet Organizer—Unfortunately, drawer and shelf space is sometimes limited in some cruise cabins. That’s why we always bring at least one of these inexpensive closet organizers which gives us plenty of room for our folded clothes. We’ll usually use a couple of magnetic hooks described above to hang these from the ceiling in the corner of our room. Here’s the link where you can get yours: amzn.to/3w3GvQn

Our Recommended Camera Gear
-----DJI Osmo Pocket 3--You’ll usually see Tracey using this in almost all of our videos. Love this wonderful, small and versatile camera. Basic Camera: amzn.to/3UDJJDF Creators Combo: amzn.to/4beP6OP
-----GoPro Hero12—This is the best action camera we’ve ever used. Whether taking videos on the Zodiacs in Antarctica, snorkeling in Papua New Guinea, or scuba diving in Bonaire, this camera is always in our hands. Find the link to get yours here: amzn.to/3UkTcy1
-----Peak Design Slide Lite Camera Strap—If you still carry a DSLR or Mirrorless camera like Jan does, this is the perfect strap to use. What is great is that this fully adjustable strap can be configured to be worn across your body, putting the weight of your camera across your back as opposed to your neck. Plus, it offers a bit more security when traveling through high pick-pocket areas. Get your Slide Lite Strap here: amzn.to/3xW6pWR

I'm on prima in December 2024 out of NYC 10 days. I can't wait not really worried about negative comments.

Sailing Feb 9 2024. Second time on Prima. Sailed Oct 31, 2022. Great ship. Wifi is great.
  • I’m glad to hear that there is main dining room for lunch on the 1st day carnival doesn’t offer that option
  • @nsobgyn
Just found your channel. We will be on the Prima , ICeland to Southampton , in May. Looking forward to seeing your other videos about this ship. We are usually " loyal to royal" but the itinerary we will be going on, looks to be phenomenal .
  • We will be on the Prima real soon and it was definitely interesting to hear yall's thoughts on the ship on your first day. We have been on Bliss so would love to see how Prima is similar and different from Bliss and the Breakaway-plus ships

I am sailing on the Prima on 2/9. I really wish I had done a little more research as I am seeing some of the same negative comments over and over (spaces/venues too small as well as main pool area). I appreciate your review and will check back to see if you post anything else before I leave. That said, I am a big believer that fun and adventure is a mindset, and no matter what (unless we have a Titanic like experience 😅) I fully expect to have a great time.

We’re going on the Prima on 3/29 from Galveston. We only cruise on NCL and are looking forward to this ship. Can’t wait to see your overall experience video.

I am doing the transatlantic in April on her. Wishing I had booked on another NCL ship but we will make the best of it. Looking forward to the thermal Spa, as that always seems to be the saving factor for me on a cruise. Perfer smaller crowds and kids make me nervous lol. I realize I sound horrible but I am a very nice guy. I just have anxiety issues.
  • @Wild1995
Great review. You guys are always very objective. I agree with the atrium. I am also mixed. It sort of looks like an atrium from a convention center and not a cruise ship.

I been on it so much wasted space Sid’s place is so small you never able to go see music at night the Starbucks should be there not a music
  • We were on the Prima in Feb. I will say a lot of negative about the ship, but we still had a great time with that being said I would not get back on the prima or any ship in that class, getting ready to cruise the Epic

Hear ya. Going Ncl Prima may 22 2025 Reykjavik departure despite review But yes this ship plan not best Worry about northern Ports as outside seating 40-50f
  • @Glint_Eastwood
I find this interesting, since if you go to the NCL website the Spirit is the lowest ranked. But I guess anything for clicks right?
  • @andrewleung7553
Looks too tight, enclosed, and crowded. Breakaway+ class looks much better!
  • @scotttravels517
The metropolitan was a waste of open space bar 100 people could fit nothing ever happen here this could be Sid’s and why Casino I so BiG need to take back for more atrium. Prima reminds me of friends house a designer do over it look good but try to use it nothing works poor planning and a party it over crowed
  • @bethankful32
So negative!! I like to watch these to gather intel and I understand that there will be good/bad, but dang.
  • Hard PASS on the Prima... Our Captain skipped docking at Roatan claiming 36 knots winds while 3 other vessels made port as we watched.
  • @Pinoy_ps5

  • You seem to make a complaint about most everything about the Prima... what a negative review!
