Installing Genmax 3300I Generator in a 34' Winnebago RV

Published 2022-07-10
This is the third video in our Generator Saga. When we originally bought our Winnebago it did not have a working Generator. I have been on a mission since purchasing it to update the original Onan 5500 watt generator with something more fuel efficient and modern. With the cost to fix the original generator being out of our budget. I went searching Craigslist only to find out that just buying any generator and hacking it up until it fit in the hole I wanted wasn't as smart as I thought it was. So I went back to the drawing board and found the most powerful pure sine wave generator on the market. I lose some features like an auto start, but with everything I gain in this Genmax unit I think it more than compensates. This 3300 watt generator starts on the first pull 95% of the time. It runs fairly quiet for the electrical load we put on it. Doesn't overheat in the old generator compartment (when I remember to turn the cooling fans on). The only real problem I’m really having with it are trying to fill the gas tank on it without overflowing. Running our AC on high, 3 dehumidifiers, a couple of fans plus an Xbox or two, I get about 2 hours of run time per gallon. It is a little troublesome having to go out every hour and a half or so to top off the tank. I still can't wait to start on our lithium battery project. But for now Audrey, Bella and I are staying much cooler. Just in time for Summer to kick into high gear..

  • Great video for our introduction. Thanks you mucn from GENAMX.
  • Gas should never leak from a carburetor. If it does your float needle valve is defective. Genmax is a mess to deal with.

How are you going to deal with changing oil. The port is at the back.

What cap did you guys get that works with the 3300i?
  • I’m thinking about getting the genmax 3500. I’d need to extend the exhaust like you did. How did you attach the auxiliary tube to the genmax? Which tube did you use?
