State or National Park Campground camping for us was totally different in the 1950’s & 1960’s…Army surplus Tent and Cot rentals from the park ranger station would be dropped off by the park ranger at your site, you had to setup yourself. We cooked our meals on a heavy steel grill welded to a steel post set in the ground and ate on a concrete picnic table. No electricity was available. Carried water in buckets to do dishes with. We had our Coleman gas lanterns for light at night. Restroom facilities were pretty close and convenient so we didn’t have to walk too far…Very quiet at night, you’d maybe hear some muffled talking off in the distance but that was it, truly a wonderful time for family and friends…
  • Please do an Update on this generator at 3 to 6 months of use. Thanks
  • I absolutely love my Genmax 3500 it was a learning curve getting the oil level correct mine won’t start unless the oil is in the middle of the crosshatch the directions don’t say that. Always run it on propane and comes in handy to run my a/c no way can my solar system keep up so great little generator. Thanks for your input 😊

Another great video with lots of good useful detail, thank you!. We saved up and bought the EU3000is Honda 😂 6 years later we love it even though it is 130lbs but the db is 58 at max and 48 at 1/4 power. (I hope this does not offend anybody) I work for an industrial laser manufacturer and many of our parts and components are from China. Unfortunately circuitboards burn out during testing or do not make the warranty period we give out customers. metals are soft and when we torque bolts and socket-head screws they strip. We regularly receive lasers, capacitors, motors, pumps etc. broken in the box. The owner overlooks it because the profit is so enticing. It breaks my heart to see this lack of quality but I’m hopeful quality will improve over time with Chinese made equipment. The moral of the story is you get what you pay for. I personally keep things for a very long time and want good reliable long lasting equipment, like all of us do. This is no reflection on you and your stuff. But I would love to see a long term review one day on your purchase. Downsizing makes cents did one on their Honda after 16 years and still running great with no issues😊. Love your content, kinda addicting 😂

Glad I watched video and looked at comments as the $100 coupon is still available. You saved me some money! Nice video. Perfect for me as we have a 2023 26 foot inTech with no slides and 15,000 BTU A/C. Generator should handle that and I like that it doesn’t weigh a lot so my wife can deal with it if she heads out for a ladies camping weekend. 😀

Got this generator about a year ago and has worked great! Love the size to power ratio. Spoiled with the electric start. Able to use the remote start from inside the rv to get the coffee going without going outside.
  • We camp in a primitive camp ground and everyone has generators. Most have them in little "dog" houses to protect from the weather and to quiet them. We made a small box to cover ours with foam insulation board and duct tape and we fold it down when not in use. It really helps deaden the sound. You just have to leave air flow and it works great.

Goals!! We have a 36ft class a RV and we are building an off grid system. We have the Inverter and charger combo and we just got this Gen
  • I thought the usb ports on my generator were useless until the power went out at my home and I was without power for a week. Now it is a feature I really like and can see the benefit

Hello! Great videos! Are you aware of the Genmax GM4600iAEDC? It is the same form factor size, dual fuel, has a 30amp RV plug, remote start, electronic display and CO2 detector. Gas output is 4600/3800 and propane is 4200/3500. Just thought you might want to know because it solves some issues you pointed out like the RV 30amp plug. Have a fantastic day and keep up the great work.

We moved to FLA last year and purchased a Wen 56380i 3800 W of clean power. We were hit by Ian and relied on that gen for 2 weeks to power our home. It did awesome. We’d run it with a 2 hr on 4 hr off schedule but staying off all night. Refrigerator stayed cold and icy the whole time. Others can disagree but I ran a BBQ sized propane tank in less than a day. Very disappointed in the propane as I was hoping to get 3 days out of the tank. Averaged 2-3 gallons of gas/day.

Glad to see you got a generator . Your solar and batteries are impressive but I was concerned when you were in Louisiana. I been following for a while now, mainly I want ORV and you done what I would have done. The refrigerator and solar is the first thing I doing. As long as your batteries can last through the night until generator hours in the southern parts of the country there is nothing wrong with supplementing with a generator. Without a driving day to use my DC/DC chargers your solution works well. I do use the gasoline side a little more, especially for the shorter periods to get more of the watts to charge batteries faster. Propane is my long term. Depending on temp , and other demands and what solar is doing I can get 17 and 21 hours out of 30 lb propane bottle. Keep it up and good luck.
  • @DH-qz4mx
I have the GENMAX 3300I and its been perfect. Saved our bacon in Arkansas this past July when we broke down.
  • I always say, the best generator is the one that comes with the camper embedded. That way I don’t have to find an extra spot to carry it. 😂. Great breakdown.
  • I’ve got the Firman 4kW starting wattage dual fuel model. Quality is excellent and it works beautifully, but it’s heavy at about 90 lbs, and I wish it was just a bit quieter. It’s not terrible, but just on the plus side of obtrusive in most settings, though I am very sensitive to noise so many probably think it’s very quiet. I do wish it had remote start. This one is the first dual fuel remote start I’ve ever encountered, so that’s great. I do love the wheels and handle on my Firman, they’re very robust.
  • @daviddion3731
Although I bought the Champion 2500 Dual Fuel ($650) which is perfect for our 30amp single AC (with easy start) Travel Trailer, this seems to be an excellent choice for those who may need a bigger capacity generator. Great presentation!
  • Thank you for the info, been looking for a new generator. A PERFECT size and weight. It a must have unit
  • It’s nice to have a cheaper alternatives, but the longevity and reliability of the Honda generators is unmatched. You can also resell them for nearly what you paid years later. Great video!
  • @Cometman2007
Nice review. We are looking at the 3.6w Evenflow battery power station. It’s $3,600. I wanted to stay away from gas/propane power sources. But for $900 this looks like a good alternative. Thanks. I will look into it.
