We use a white noise app on the phone Also there are magnetic motion activated rechargeable led lights. They are small and are great to use in the bathroom so you donā€™t have to wake everyone up using the bright bath light

Always bring your own shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair gel or spray, safety pins, thin clothes hangers, Pens! Post-It notes! - Magnetic hooks are a great idea, thanks! Get everything up off the floor and off surfaces - out of your way! Need 2 per person, Re-usable water bottles/mugs with handles for filling with cold or hot drinks from the buffet. Toiletry bag that unfolds to show 3-4 sections & hangs by shower. Travel Adapter Cube is great! No surge protected ones? Why? Need USB & USC cables for charging devices. Donā€™t forget Fitbit charger! I always bring small tubs of powdered Oxy Clean for treating laundry stains & Powdered Laundry detergent! Clothes pegs!! Or Towel Clips - fires have been fueled by towels on balconies so NOT ALLOWED. I have a suction cup clothes line for - towels, hand laundry & rinsed Swimsuits hung on INSIDE OF GLASS SLIDING DOOR (do not put it on the door that is slid over by the other door!) Never hang anything on balcony! I bring a drug store with us with everything you could possibly need because hubby always asks ā€œdo you have anyā€¦.?ā€ Either buy travel size or decant large containers of liquids like Aloe Vera Gel for Sunburn treatment or Mouth Wash or other toiletries into multiple plain plastic snug-screw-top containers then bag them against leaks! Donā€™t pack huge bottles of liquids! Border Security have broken our locks on our suitcases and confiscated large bottles of Mouth Wash, Aloe Vera Gel & even large thick tubes of Sunscreen! Everything has to be in small containers so it does not look suspicious when going through bag radar screening! ā¤

One of the best travel hacks we ever found if you like doing beach vacations: several years ago we purchased a cheap fabric shower curtain for under $10 at WalMart. We use it as a beach blanket! It folds up very small, is perfect size for two people to sit/lay on, extremely portable. We have used it on several cruise vacations when we know we are going to have beach time. Perfect!

For thank you cards we purchase tourism postcards from our own home town. This gives the recipients a little insight to where we are from and thereā€™s plenty of space on the other side to write the thank you note

I bring disposable toilet seat covers for bathrooms while in port and on excursions to use after I clean the toilet seat with a Lysol or Clorox wipe. I throw them away in the trash, never flush them.
  • @user-vi9zw7sp9p
We bring many of the items mentioned and keep them in a small packing cube so it is always ready to go. I call it my cruise travel junk drawer.šŸ˜Š
  • @Luv2cruise4fun
We always bring a ā€œwhite dry eraseā€ board. Has a magnetic back so sticks to wall. We always leave a message for our room stewardā€¦any requests we have or a simple have a great day! We enjoy reading the messages they then leave us!!
  • I am a retired nurse and I learned long ago that a roll of cloth tape like we used to secure IVs with work wonderfully to do an emergency hem job. I never travel without it.

EYE GLASS REPAIR KIT! It has come in handy many times, not only repairing our glasses but repairing out table mates glasses!
  • I am a Front Desk Manager at a hotel. I keep sewing kits, makeup remover wipes, toothpaste, and many other things that we give to guests for free. Makeup wipes work just as well as, if not better than, Tide pens. I always have some on me. It never hurts to stop by the front desk at your hotel to see what they may have for free.

Instead of packing the travel sized box of detergent, I pack a detergent strip (like TruEarth) and then can tear off pieces to use as needed, which takes up far less space. Likewise, if insect repellent is needed where we are going, we pack the repellent towelettes rather than the pump or aerosol versions.
  • We hook binder clips to our hook magnets to hold the curtains to the side walls to keep light out when we are sleeping.
  • Even better than Duct Tape is Gaffer Tape, available on Amazon. Its what is used on movie sets to tape doen all the power cords, but doesnt leave a gummy residue behind upon removal.
  • @dandan101097
Travel spray Lysol. All the door/cabinets Handel's, Safe buttons, sofas, and chairs. When I arrive to my cabin.
  • We have brought a dental repair kit with us. My husband lost a crown and we were able to stick it back on with the kit adhesive
  • I have a suggestion for all travellers who have food allergies. My husband made up recipe cards using google translate for all of the countries we were visiting on our Mediterranean Cruise. The languages we translated were Arabic, Italian, Greek, Turkish, Spanish and Croatian. What a benefit this was for the waitstaff in the ship restaurants and even on shore. This made for memorable dining experiences as I had full confidence that my dietary needs were being met. On occasion the chefs would actually make me a separate meal that was not on the menu just so I could have an enjoyable meal.

Yes, I bring safety pins! I get them at Hobby Lobby so I have a variety of sizes. I also bring Ziploks, in snack, sandwich, quart and gallon, a few of each. Yes, I take stuff from the buffet for our fridge. But the bags keep things dry! I also bring plastic containers, and a water bottle. I take a few binder clips and larger paperclip in my purse at all times. I also carry a small stapler. If in a hurry, a small stapler, properly applied, can save a hem until it can be sewed. I am on the shorter side, so I trip on my pants and skirt hems sometimes. And yes, I use magnet hooks/ clips at home and on travels. I bring my own shampoo and conditioner because I have yet to see my brand offered. The overdoor organizer saves me from chaos! I just use a plastic bag for the laundry. I cheat. šŸ˜… I hand-wash a few clothes with shampoo. Sure you're not originally from the southern USA? We are big on thank you notes. Snacks and wine are a given.
