Amphibia is one of two isekai-type Disney shows to air simultaneously. Each released six months apart, Amphibia being released first on June 17th, 2019. Disney XD often has shows that become SUPER popular, or… that just flop. Amphibia, thankfully, is one of the shows that became super popular, and for good reason. S’really good. It’s funny, dramatic, action packed, irreverent, and yet still manages a healthy earnestness and has plenty of lessons that the younger among us may benefit from. Recently, the show ended, and to celebrate the instant classic, we’re going to look at it in chronological order from start to finish. Sit back and grab a delicious California Avocado, because we’re going to be going on a journey that spans thousands of years, and multiple dimensions. And obviously, big and immediate spoilers following this sentence, so there’s your warning.

  • You know, Anne never DID say she was going to take up the position of guardian. She said "it's possible" that one day she may feel worthy of the position. The guardian is going to presumably check again the next time Anne dies, but that doesn't mean Anne will take the position. As the guardian even said, she has a choice.
  • I'm very happy that you put the Amphibia timeskip and the earth timeskip at different years. Almost everyone I've seen has grouped both timeskips together and I personally thought that the 10 year skip was only for earth and the Amphibia timeskip was probably at least a year since almost no one changed besides a few of the more major characters
  • I absolutely love this show. This alongside the Owl House are the best Disney shows to come out since Gravity Falls.

This show is one of Disney's best work.

I had a breakdown at the series finale because of everything I connected with in this show and coming to terms with its ending was like losing a loved one.... Bittersweet and heartbreaking but a fulfilling experience nonetheless
  • Me: someone who has watched this show one billion times and completely understands the timeline already Also me: watches it and enjoys it anyway

19:19 Now, they're officially called "Wit, Heart, and Strength" BUT "Tri-Force of Wisdom, Courage, and Power" sounds a lot cooler! Anyway, glad we have a more-or-less complete Timeline of when everything takes place. We still don't have specific dates(outside of the Christmas episode) like Anne's birthday and exactly how long the Plantars stayed on Earth but at least have the layout.

Let's go!!! Loved this show. PS: About the whole "Anne backup" stuff, I don't think she is a clone. Rather the guardian created a copy of Anne's body and put her soul in it. Anyone else thinks that? At least, that's what I want to believe.
  • 29:50 i like how you added the fact that we know the year she will die, as before the guardian sends her back to the world of the iving, she says " i've waited thousands of years to retire, whats 78 years more" indicating that anne will dies in 78 years, which is 2098

It's nice seeing shows do well in spite of their own networks.
  • Over the summer, my nephew introduced me to Amphibia, Craig of the Creek and Big City Greens. These shows are written so well that ANYONE can enjoy them. I'm a 30-year-old black man, but there are moments in ALL of these shows where I'm laughing until I'm crying because the jokes and overall humor are just that good. Those three cartoons made me believe that the kids coming up today have some GOOD animated content to watch again and again.

The way I've worked out the show's timeline, is the show starts in June 2019 and ends (prior to the time skip) in February 2020. Anne, Sasha and Marcy traveled to Amphibia near the end of the school year in June, on Anne's birthday, Anne returned five months later in November, was home for Christmas, went back to Amphibia in January, and the invasion was a few weeks later in February. This has led to my fan theory: in the time skip, the news anchor says today marks the 10-year anniversary of Frog-vasion. It's also the day that the original Anne died and the copy/backup Anne was born, which would make it her birthday. So the reason Sasha and Marcy are celebrating Anne's birthday on the invasion anniversary is because they're celebrating her new birthday. It'd be a day only the three of them celebrate, while Anne would still celebrate her June birthday with her family. I'm sure Sasha, as well as Marcy, have made it to Anne's June birthday as well, but this day has become very special to them. Now Matt did say that in the 10-year time skip, Sasha and Marcy are celebrating Anne's birthday around but not on the actual June date. That to me though doesn't make sense, because what it says is Anne was on Earth from November until May, which sounds way too long. The portal was virtually ready to go, and I figure it took about a month to move it and set it up. Plus Anne, while happy to be home, was anxious to get back to save Sasha and Marcy and stop Andrias. She wouldn't have wanted to wait so long. Plus the invasion, which as we saw at the end of Froggy Little Christmas appeared ready, very likely wouldn't have waited six more months.
  • I just hope that there can be more content in this universe, heck in the finale they literally go off to explore a new continent
  • @a.kitcat.b
As someone who knows about the ending but has no idea what happens in the rest of the show, this is extremely helpful! Thank you!
  • If the channel is still doing timeline videos, I would love to see one of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts.
  • I hate how people only watch this show to ship sasha anne and marcy. there are so many underrated aspects of the show, like the plantars! They're in almost every episode and yet people only talk about the calamity trio!
  • @G0LDST3R
I can’t wait for Marcy’s journal to give us more of a timeline
