I've ran more marathons than I can remember; got bored and moved on to ultra marathons, one day 100 milers, and multi-day cross country events across Iceland and England. I've also coached - all in my 50's. This is really an outstanding video for someone who is getting in endurance events. Very similar advice that I give my new athletes. I tell my athletes to treat the race as just another training day. Train as you race; race as you trained. I've been watching your videos for maybe two years now and totally enjoy them. Congratulations on your accomplishment! (Glad I'm not the only one who keeps my medals in the sock drawer).

This video is one of the reasons I started working on my swimming, which is my weakest point. After going 2 weeks, I have gained an idea for how fast/slow times are. That 1h 19m is quite impressive, esp for first time!

By the way, did you ever get cramps when training swimming, if so how did you prevent?

Super impressive. Great job. 99.9% of the world couldn't do that. You have to be mentally strong to push through and train for something like that.

low intensity exercise is very hard for me…so boring! zone 2 running I feel like I’ve done nothing haha.

You know how to tell if someone’s done an ironman before? They’ll tell you (or you’ll see their shirt)
