Film Theory: The Spiderman 2 Mystery! Why Spiderman Lost His Powers!

(SPOILER WARNING for No Way Home!!!) What's cool about this video is that MatPat was right, because in No Way Home, Toby answers Tom's question about if it (webs) ever runs out. Toby answers< "Existential Crisis"

Mat is basically right. The movie almost outright states that he was sick. From keeping his love for MJ inside, losing his best friend, the death of his uncle and the responsibility of keeping the city safe. His powers went dormant (Like how you can't smell when you catch a cold), so he took a break and discovered that there were still people out there who appreciated him and took the good he did and spread it throughout New York City. Knowing that people were still there for him, and that people still loved him gave him the strength he needed to get his powers back.

This shows how Spider-man is still a human after all, he gets sick, gets tired and feel more pain when he's stressed or depressed

He lost his powers due to the lack of pizza time.

This was outright confirmed in no way home! Good job, matpat!

Spoilers! Matpat was more or less right. In Spiderman no way home Tobey's Peter says that he had that loss of powers due to an existential crisis

This theory makes the movies feel so much deeper emotionally.

Matpat: let's say what a great year 2018 was Me in 2020: enjoy it, it won't last.

2 years later and Mat Pat was right in No way Home Tobey says he had Web block (power lose) due to "existential crisis stuff"

imagine how happy he will be when he sees his theory being proven right in no way home

You can also see this in Spiderman: Far From Home, where Tom Holland's spiderman couldn't use his spider senses. It's because he too also went through a traumatic event, His own Death and Iron Man's, this is more than just a theory, its spot on.

Funny thing is, my mom was studying medicine when I first watched the second movie as a kid, and she already solved it before this theory came out. She said that Peter wasen't eating well and feelinf sad(Simple words for a child) wich may mean depression and eating disorders.

Also the doctor from Spider-Man 2 said it was psychological

“A mystery i think i can solve today” No way home: “Funny you mention that i actually did have a web block.” “Oh really? Why?” “Existential crisis” Love how you do all this work then in no way home he just says existential crisis as to why he loses his power.

They mentioned this in no way home!! He talked about existential crisis but probably wasn’t accurate just because he didn’t wanna talk too much about it
