Damn those last 5 minutes have me crying. Very admirable of DC to see how much he loves his parents. May their souls be together in peace.
-
Amazing how DC became such a legend. Imagine starting your MMA career at an age where some fighters retire, fighting heavyweights when you're as tall as featherweights, then going to 205 so you don't take opportunities from your friend, and becoming a double champ dominating every fighter on your way (who isn't drugged up on juice and coke) until you're in your 40!

9 mins in when DC said his biggest fear was seeing his son’s face when he told him he didn’t win the rematch against Jones.. that’s heart breaking. DC, I know you’ll never read this, but I hope you know your son is extremely lucky to have a guy like you for a dad, and you are one of the best and most inspirational fighters of all time. You don’t have to win every fight to be a winner and a champion. You are one of the best! Your son will only ever be proud to call you Dad.

i hope dc scrolls thru these comments and sees this. and sees the other comments. if dc understood how much hes respected and loved and no matter what jones did fail for performance enhancement drugs. if dc was on the same thing he beats jones . dc is a fkn legend

One of the only men in this world I truly look up to for his work ethic and for his personality.
-

"Sometimes doing what is expected is the hardest thing to do.." DC , so true .
-
We love you DC. Legend and you always bring a smile to our faces. Thank you DC.
-
One of the best ever. What a commendable person, what a champion, and what a career. Very little fighters who are respected by the entire mma community like this guy.
-
Love DC! An amazing 2 belt Champion and an even better person. Incredible ambassador for the sport and also coach for the youth. Role Model. Leader.
-
Legend of the sport
-
His fight against Barnett in Strikeforce is what sold me on him being a future all time great. He literally ran through that whole tournament
-
One of the best to ever do it. No excuses on defeat.
-
Got me all worked up talking bout his son, hearing he lost to Jones. You’re a real one bro. Amazing career and life. So much determination and hard work. And talking bout his dad at end, sheesh. So emotional.
-
Greatest Double Champ imo, despite reach and height disadv. prime dc beats any hw and lhw in the ufc not named jones
-
DC is pure class. Characters like him are what this sport is about - a true warrior, a born leader, a natural role model, and an incredible human. Thank you Daniel Cormier, UFC Double Champ.
-
My favorite combat sports athlete of all time. Aside from GSP, a greater role model couldn’t be found… His journey, his heart, his downfall his rise he never lost his intensity as a competitor, and remained forever classy. Truly a MMA Icon
-
The man really does have one of the biggest hearts in the world, not just the sport. One of if not the most holsum fighter to have fought in the sport.
-
One of my favourite fighters off all time!

A legend in every sense of the word. A TRUE human being inside and outside of the octagon. A rolemodel to the younger generations. A guiding light on how to overcome adversity and still come out the other end a person to be proud of inside and outside of the octagon.
