The mean streets of 1980s London turned out a teenage troublemaker named Lee Murray. Despite a burgeoning criminal career, Murray took a detour into mixed martial arts. He fought at UFC 46, but Murray remains best known for a back-alley brawl with Tito Ortiz... and his involvement in a multi-million-dollar robbery. Friends, witnesses, and Murray's attorney recount unbelievable stories of an unapologetic athlete.

2035 is gonna give us the JRE episode we never knew we needed
  • @NASkeywest
They went from guys like Lee Murray….to the likes of guys like Ian Garry. Damn.
  • @thebaneking4787
His story needs to be made into a movie. Like someone else said a “Guy Ritchie” movie. Can you imagine?
  • I blame Herb Dean for the late stoppage in the alley and Tito taking those unnecessary blows!
  • He is the 1st BMF champion. When Nate said fighters aren't gangster anymore he was talking about this Era.
  • If anyone has showtime/paramount watch “catching lightning”. It really dives into everything from his childhood all the way to the sentencing. The Tito story gets me every time.

If you followed the old school MMA forums specifically the old Sherdog forums, Lee used to post about his street fights. He had some really really wild stories. Dude was a certified nutter.
  • @IFAMILYIH
HE KNOCKED OUT TITO IN A STREET FIGHT WHEN TITO WAS A CHAMPION AND HE WAS A NOBODY LOL LEE MURRAG IS DEFINITELY A REAL G

I grew up with one of Lee Murray's closest friends and have heard some crazy stories. The money that crew were making and this was before the robbery was mental.
  • Like Chael Sonnen said... Most combatants are one out of three things...an athlete, a fighter, or a competitor. If you are two out of three, then you have what it takes to be a super star. He seemed like a fighter and a competitor, but definitely a straight up fighter. God bless him.

And the guy he nearly killed in the road rage attack had been in prison for road rage offences. He was actually reverse raming his car into Lee's car with his pregnant Mrs and daughter in the car screaming in terror. He's lucky Lee didn't stamp his head into mush.

Dana White can't wait to book Lee Murray v Tito Ortiz at UFC 600 in 2035.
  • @themaster-jp6sp
His fight with Anderson was super competitive. Dude was a beast.
  • @steanosport446
Why are they dragging this story up again ? Murray at UFC300 ? 😈
  • @robstaaass
One of the saddest things about this is the wasted talent
  • @hugh2hoob668
Mrs Millitich's China anecdote hinting towards Lee's criminal behavior was a GREAT use of foreshadowing
  • @badger297
These are on par with the 30for30s from back in the day. Thanks for uploading these

Highly recommend y'all watch Catching lightning, perfectly explains Lee's story
