Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

I just want to say that we need more of these kinds of videos! Such enlightenment about the Middle East and Iraq. As an American I feel like all we are taught about that part of the world is negative ☹️ You guys just keep sharing the love and opening some minds ❤️
  • @jasandoval1000
Look at their faces they are glowing in happiness and from all the love and generosity they received from the Kurdish people. How lovely people!! Greetings from USA.

I always hear wonderful things about the people of Kurdistan. I am sure they appreciate tourists and are eager to show some hospitality.

  • Omg I’m literally in tears just by watching this video it’s really nice to see other people come and visit my country because we really welcome our people and we have a lot of amazing people around but mostly our countries get ruined by wars and it’s really nice to see people understanding us 💞😭
  • Randomly came across this video and it has changed my views about Iraq. They are so good at hospitality. Love and Respect for Kurdistan from India 🇮🇳
  • @donnamarsh2432
The kindness of all these people made me cry too, Kara! So unexpectedly generous and beautiful people!

Before the war in Ukraine I'd been watching you guys for a few years. I was on the country 86/100 in the playlist. After a 3-month power blackout, I continued with the playlist. Every next country you went to was affected by war. As someone who unfortunately happened to know what is like, watching your experience there is still tremendously eye-opening and something I now can relate to. Everything we may hear or see on the media is often far from the truth. And most importantly, what everyday people are like. It melts my heart knowing that one day we can all live in peace again, travel safely, leave the prejudice behind and face a different reality from what we expected. Thank you so much for everything you do. Thank you for showing people the reality of life in different countries in the world! And thank you for your respect and kindness.

I’ve watched so many videos of theirs, and I can say this video had me smiling the whole time. Everyone was so excited and sweet, and I think it’s amazing to see how kind humanity can really be. I feel like we all have gotten so used to people being stand-offish but this is awesome to see!
  • @karengibson1693
You two have totally changed my attitude towards this region. For the first time I feel so different towards these people. Keep doing what you two are doing. You are making a difference in the world. Thank you.
  • @recipe30
It's amazing how nice people can be. You realize that only by traveling and it's total contrast to what the media portrays. I stopped watching the news 2 years ago, now I only watch YouTube including you guys, Kara and Nate who give a true representation of the world, keep it up guys! Joel.
  • @Karen-kz4hj
