Rob is a delightful and a well composed presenter. Lots of great information here and it is very appreciated. A note to the video producer is dump the dated and distracting sound track. YIKES! If you have ADHD or are hearing impaired this background noise is a significant drawback.

I never knew what the thimbles we're for but now I do! Thanks 👍

Hey kimball! love the content! What camera are you guys using for this ?

Thanks! For heavier duty wire rope, say 5/16, what is the best method or tool to be able to shape the wire rope around a thimble, so that you can then more easily apply clips? We seem to wrestle getting our 5/16 cables around the thimbles, and then more specifically get the clips in place...thanks!
  • Wow I did it all wrong. Well got to go back and change everything. Thank so much

I'm using small 1/4" single saddle clamps and my ratchet won't fit between the nuts because it's too thick. Where to do I find thinner ratchet attachments?

I was doing good until I got to 2:55, why can't you use wire rope clips for overhead lifting? And if not, what can you use? I'm building a pulley lift system in my garage with 1/8 & 3/16 cable connected to a hand winch to lift 100 lbs to the ceiling. I didn't want to purchase a swaging tool for ferrules so was hoping wire clips would work.
  • This is super informative! Got me to hit the Subscribe button! Thanks 😅

Thanks for the great video with no added BS. Now I can make sure my tie out is assembled correctly so my idiot dog doesn't escape 👍 The tie out is for short periods of time, never left alone or unattended, no hazards in the area, etc. I can only walk so far and when the dog refuses to go potty, she's not coming right back in the house to poop on my floor 💩
  • so what if i want to make one for suspending a speaker? are there different instructions i need to follow?
  • @desertrider325
If I can’t use it for over head. What other option do I have? Lifting a dirt bike with Lange Originals lift.
  • Is there a link for Kimball Midwest Wire Rope Products specification shown in this video?
