  • That's a great tactic- a smile so that you're not labeled as an angry black man just for speaking directly.
  • I have autism and some people tried to play me in this shop mocking my disabilities. So I used this video as motivation and I g checked them let's just say I got the respect I deserved.
  • Facts!! Better to be respected than to be loved. People take advantage of people they claim to “Love”.

Gems from an elder. Us younger ones must listen to the older ones who came before us. It would be a great benefit. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

At 49, I’m a Taurus that accepts nothing but respect regardless who you are. I’ve taken losses at work, family and relationships in the name of respect. I’m finally a free black woman!

Star you are absolutely right on this one, never let anyone play with your name, that playing turns into disrespect quick fast 💯
  • @devious_j

    Im 19 ( born in 2003 ) n thankyou for this knowledge sir .
  • Me too. I had to finally stand my ground to my boss after nearly 6 months trying to convince and bribe me to commit fraud. Monthly I’ve been blowing him off saying I’ll look into seeing what I can do regarding the request. I fear I would loose my job but I didn’t care about those consequences because fraud would have far worse consequences. The last time he kept asking me and I was telling him that I won’t be able to fulfill his request and he kept asking why and I had to raise my voice and tell him exactly why. He got quiet . He appears to now respect me now and the fact I didn’t get scared and leave the job.

This is a good reminder. Sometimes ppl try to be too familiar when they don't even know you like that, and couch the shade as a joke. We are not obligated to laugh at anyone's jokes, or to go along to get along. When it comes to our name, and our person, we get to say what goes and what does not go. Period.

I'm going through something like this in my life right now and this is just confirmation that I'm taking the right steps. You got to demand your respect absolutely. But do it in a way that can't be used against you

I always appreciate Star morning thoughts

Stand up for yourself at all costs. Nothing is worth the loss of self respect. Pick your battles wisely. Be fearless.
