NOTIFICATION SQUAD: And I thought ET was terrifying. I think post-modern Humpty Dumpty scares me even more. 5 days, 1,000km, 8 years of waiting, but we got what we came for. SCREENSHOT IT. Mt. Fuji is a dormant strato-volcano, which means it still has a magma chamber, but it's currently empty, so it probably won't erupt for a while. Either way, I hope they have a plan for when it does erupt.

I've lived in Japan for almost 18 years and I cannot tell you how many times I have traveled between Nagoya and Tokyo and almost always Mt. Fuji was covered in clouds. I even flew back to America on a day of clear skies, only to fly over the mountain and SURPRISE, a ring of clouds covered the mountain!!!! Aaaargh!!!
