We continued metal detecting at this 1700s homesite and found some more amazing colonial relics, as well as a very nice Civil War surprise mixed in! #metaldetecting #civilwar #1700s #farmfield #northcarolina

We did some more digging and sifting at the abandoned WWII base, and we uncovered a variety of treasures lost by the soldiers!

Let me know if you all are interested in this type of thing and if I should continue posting videos from this site!

I recently found this incredible antique sterling silver Navajo bracelet, which features a unique pattern and a turquoise stone! I’m not sure exactly how old it is, but I’m guessing early 1900s? My grandma certainly liked it! #metaldetecting #sterlingsilver #silver #navajo #bracelet

I was metal detecting this Civil War camp site and found my first company hat letter insignia. Regarding the preserved cloth among the coins; copper serves as an antimicrobial, antibacterial agent when buried with otherwise perishable organic items. In several of the Hopewell culture mounds excavated in the 1800's, many copper ear spools (like today's teens who "guage" their ears) were found. Although the skeletons had long since disintegrated, the ear spools were STILL ATTACHED to preserved ears!
