I'm 60 plus years old now, and, i remember my dad was one of the last people who I knew working on them back in Manitoba when I was a kid. From steam to the Arrow in the airforce. It truly didn't matter what you needed repaired...anything....that man could fix it.. Sure miss him, and the world doesn't even know what has been lost....

Thank God we will NEVER have to endure a 35-minute video extolling the badass, ground-shaking, awesome virtues of battery-powered motors. Fuel, air, compression, and in some cases spark are the only ingredients necessary to make the spine tingle and the heart race. Well done.

I love these old fire breathing iron dragons and iron horses!! Nothing beats the feel of raw engine power trying to tear open your soul!! Oh baby, just can't beat it!! My hat is off to all those that keep these beasts running!!
  • The black engine is not actually a road locomotive, it is a ploughing engine as it has the drum and cable beneath it to connect to a plough which it dragged across a field working in conjunction with another one.
  • The 12V71 Detroit powered semi pulling 3 trailers full of cool wins my vote. Looks like Aussie land.
  • Completely breathtaking! It's a delightful and entertaining surprise.
  • @ 18:00 the pratt and whitney J60 was never used in helicopters of any description. helicopters use a turboshaft engine not a turbo jet. the J60 was used in the North American T-39 saberliner, Lockheed C-140 jetstar, North American T-2B Buckeye navy trainer and the Fairchild SD-5 surveillance drone.

That motorcycle at the end sounds like my early '70;s mini-bike with its 5 hp Briggs & Stratton motor!
  • @ 29:04 Sounds like "Rubber-Duck" from the damned good loverly movie "CONVOY"! "Rubber-Duck" should've had that GINORMOUS Grille-Guard on the front of the Semi-Tractor!

  • @ 11:40 A'ighty how can a Ford Flathead V8 run without no head on the rite side? That's sooooooo freakin weird BUT AWSOME & mystifying, TOO!

That jet semi truck reminded me of a drag car from the '60s and 70's called the Green Mamba or Green Monster (can't remember) a lot like the FireForce one at 17:10 but the cockpit was at the very front of the nose. The guy had it specially modified to throw a flame about 30ft. into the air and out the back. Basically a waste of fuel for show, when it was set for thrust the flame was blue and short. I saw him go around 260 mph in a 1/8th mile. I could be off slightly, it was 50 yrs. ago. Too bad we don't see incredible showmanship like that anymore. The Allison 12 cylinder aircraft engine on the tractor Black Gold sounded awesome.
  • @ 29:32, I DON'T think I've EVER asked this question. BUT how many engines are on "THOR"? Looks like there's 8 very very souped-up HOT-ROD Detroit Diesel engines with Superchargers!!!!
  • @billryland6199
That "J79" jet engine was not a real engine. It was just a large blowtorch.
  • @Bambihunter1971
@1:05, the engines weren't called "Phantom F4 Jet Engines". They were made by General Electric and had various J79 designations throughout its production run. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonnell_Douglas_F-4_Phantom_II I wonder if the jet semi truck was one of Les and Kent Shockley's trucks.
