  • I love how Paul always says he should've grabbed a different glove, then proceeds to use the same glove, cracks me up every time

On my first ship, I was a young man, changing heads on a diesel, I got everything snugged up, and I asked my LPO (Leading Petty Officer) what the torque spec was….he laughed at me and told me to pull till I see stars……so I did, busted off a head bolt below the deck of the block. I will hand it to him he took 100% of the blame but called me a SOB for a good week.

So far the FJ is my favorite build of any of the channels.
  • @daryl2204
I love living in my remote town and getting my parts in two days.. it’s a trade off that I’m happy to make.

If you want your third member builds to outlast engines, transmissions, transfer cases then you have to dump your crush washers for fixed spacers. Once you have set your crush measurement for the strongest depth between pinion and ring. Measure the crush measurement, remove the crush washer, remeasure in the event you distorted or made a change to said crush measurement. Get on the overly large (according to you) lathe, make a static spacer of the exact length with as close as possible interior measurement so it just taps into place. Material should be hardened then polished back to specs before installation. If you are using low horsepower engines and compound gearing such as yours, then you can use AmeraBronze materials for most applications in order to keep the pinion bearings from being pushed apart and sideways. We built rearends for many Nitro Fuel cars with no problems with pinions, rings, etc. Our nemesis was always axle twist. Before retiring the Little Red Wagon I did some maintenance on the rear end. Pulled the axles. Right axle had 21 full turns with less than half inch left in the side gears. Left side had 19 full turns. In the axle's defense it had been a full season of campaigns before the rear axle was gone through. Built a Sled Pulling Little Red Wagon that still has original third member and axles and it still exists in full operational mode in Arkansas at a private collector. Everything works as it did during competitions. If you can get him to pull the rear end you can find my method of pinion spacing. I sent this to you a couple of times before, this time it is a bit more detailed. Next rear end, hope you adopt this method to slow your yearly breakage numbers. Good luck y'all.
  • Wow! Good to see Hunter actually doing shop work and not just talking behind the camera.
  • I like how you and Matt like to test the temperature of freshly heated objects with your hands.
  • @MrsMcKittenz
Ya’ all are regular people, that’s what makes watching your videos enjoyable.
  • Paul : that's hot should've gotten a better glove Continues to do the other bearing and hold it with the same glove 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
  • @MrTimberjack608
Missed a perfect opportunity for a firecracker scare, when he was lighting the gallon jug. Would have made Paul jump for sure 😂
  • @murraycooper
Just a little tip from a 46 year machinist. Put the shaft you're putting a bearing on in a freezer for 20-30 minutes and heat your bearings up in some cooking oil before dropping on shafts. Far better on the bearing than using a torch plus you get a bit of lubrication putting it on.
  • @isleno101
I can identify with "We'll dig those out in a minute when I don't have the right parts." 11:24 😂
  • FJ is what brought me to this channel. Glad to see Hunter doing more wrenching. Shawn is an amazing asset. Love seeing boys learning. 😊😊😊
  • I’m retired Air National Guard (2005) and watching you all brings back memories of my days working on the aircraft with the team. I miss those days. Remember team work makes the dream work.
  • @jimedge8301
Paul and Michelle, you should be proud of your crew and own boys for all the hard work ( and play) they contribute to your video's.
  • @ryanharding4199
You Fab Rats are SO amazing to watch! Seriously the "you break it you fix it" crew is so fun to watch!!! Love our Fab Rats!!
  • 💯😂 Hunter learned really quick the second time he picked up the transmission what side to grab first😂👍🏼
  • Hi everyone, I'm watching from Germany, but I'm Portuguese. I love seeing you, you make me dream of one day building something for myself, I would love to go live there and meet you all. Thank you for providing me with moments like only you know how to do, on days of loneliness you are the ones who brighten my day. Love you all.
  • @bobbolieu9013
Every time that I watch you and your team, Rory and his team, Matt and his team my appreciation for the level of your wheeling skills grows. You all have some serious Off Road skills. The ease with which you drive off road, and on some seriously muddy roads the hundreds and thousands of hours that makes up your experience shows. Properly applied experience always makes the difficult appear easy.
