I honestly appreciate it when youtube vloggers are more forthright with having negative feelings. It just means everyone goes through the same thing and it's not always rainbows. Being overly negative can be bad, but so can being overly positive. Toxic positivity is a thing, so I always appreciate it when you admit that life isn't always perfect.

Honestly, a Masters is mainly to do 3 things: 1. Buy more time to decide what you wanna do after undergrad 2. Break into Management Consulting or fast track to management (this option is ideal if you actually have 3-5 years experience in the field first) 3. Switch industries If you are in the right field, and you already have your career planned out in the industry, I honestly don't think a Masters is necessary.
  • Not only do you "deserve" a little purchase if that is what you want, you also deserve TIME- in fact, everyone deserves time to have life unfold. Please, care for your health, love family and friends, and take the time you need to work out the details on the next step. (This message is also for anyone who needs to hear this...life is messy and unpredictable.)

Got so sad when you said "I don't deserve this" ... because you did your best, you gave it your all and the rest is not up to you, it is completely out of your hands if it turns into a 'yes' or a 'no' in the end. So in my opinion, the way I view the world, you absolutely deserve it!

i feel you so hard on the job search. in california, even getting a restaurant job is hard and its taking a toll on me and everyone else. plus the economy is not good so i 100% feel how you feel. you will get through this!

Don't give up Julia! I also really appreciate you showing the downs and low times, because it just makes it more realistic and relatable. Job hunting can definitely be quite discouraging at times.

I’ve definitely thought about going back to school in my own struggles looking for a tech job post grad. But honestly it’s important to ask yourself if it’s still something you’d want to pursue right now even if the job market was easy. A grad degree definitely isn’t an escape or a way out from the current market but it can help you get somewhere new. I hope it gets easier for all of us❤

Julia, You are enough. You will succeed in whatever you choose. Give yourself grace. Love your vlogs

I think it’s normal when we’re in our period of Unemployment to reflect and think about going back to school. I would take some time to really weigh the costs.

My question is - are you okay financially? If yes, I wouldn't stress about it and look for a good fit. If you're in need of income, then I might compromise a little and try a job you may not - initially - feel is a perfect fit. Jo Malone? I love Jo Malone - but would only buy if I have extra funds (e.g. no debt, lots of retirement saved, etc.). Lots of people seem to think we "deserve" a treat - I'm in the camp that purchases are never about deserving them - it's about affording them.

that perfume is 100 % deserved - in this life, everything changes day by day so why do we give ourselves the maximum (treat ourselves always positively)

I've discovered someone who's dealing with the exact same dilemma I've been facing, and now I'm feeling a sense of camaraderie! Whatever choices we make are the results of the time spent pondering. We have to trust ourselves, right? Keep up the awesome effort, Julia❤

I recently went through the new grad recruiting process in software engineering, and it was truly a nightmare. I appreciate you being so open about your journey, and I can see you’re so incredibly qualified and any company would be lucky to have you ❤
  • Have you considered putting out a cookbook with all the foods you make in your videos? I'd buy that - they all look so good!
  • @pitbrand
You do deserve that treat and your next opportunity is around the corner. You're a magical creature and you can do anything.
