I love going to the gym, getting a good workout, and taking care of my body. I strongly recommend exercise to all of my patients as well. That being said, sometimes things in the gym can get a little... weird. Today we take a look at some of the wildest TikToks that take place in the gym. Specifically we talk about bench press, squat, weird exercises on gym machines, hyper flexibility, racking your weights, warm ups, cool downs, PR's, max sets, clean and jerk, resistance bands, snowboarding, pink eye, dunking, vasoconstriction, dead lifting, sprained ankles, bulking, energy drinks, treadmills, and bears.

I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

My former weight instructor used to say “Do it light, do it right, do it wrong never get strong” because he did not want me and others to lift more than we could handle especially when trying to impress others.
  • Dr Mike is insane with his schedule. He works as a doctor and has a schedule of a full time youtuber and is still gonna wipe the floor in his boxing
  • 8:40 I was there, it was INSANE. I have never heard a sound so loud before in my life, everyone was SO happy for her. Sure, the game was far from normal gameplay, but the fact that she was able to make a basket was simply amazing. Everyone in the gymnasium was so respectful; you could hear a pin drop aside from the sound guidance and you could just tell everyone was hoping she would make a basket, then she did, and the room ERUPTED. It was so cool. For context, this basketball game was our annual unified basketball game, which is a cool thing that allows the special needs students a chance to experience sports in a way they probably wouldn't have otherwise. Such a magical moment. I come from a small town so I was shocked to see this on Dr. Mike's yt channel!

Just yesterday, there were a couple of teenage boys on the bench press, and the boy failed the rep, and the other boy could only get one side of the bar up. I ran over and lifted the bar up, after seeing that it was resting on the boy’s chest. Neither one even looked at me, lat alone said thank you. They were probably pretty embarrassed that a teenage girl had to save them🤣🤣 Anyway, just glad that they’re ok 😁

As a doctor, I’ve seen some things. But one of the MOST uncomfortable videos I’ve seen is the bilateral biceps tendon rupture from a super heavy bench press. Like, you could SEE BOTH BICEPS TEARING IN REAL TIME. 🤮 Edit: preacher curl, not bench press lol 😂

As a soldier that has lost three buddies to early heart-attacks from their excessive energy drink intake, I am very worried for that young woman. Please limit yourself to one per day if you absolutely think you need an energy drink to function.
  • "You can't allow one part of your body to become overdeveloped... you're bound to have an injury" Year before college I was squatting too much weight and as a result not getting low enough. I over grew my quads and underdeveloped my hams. Blew a hamstring in the 2nd week of training camp just running a go route.
  • Dr. Mike spitting facts for an average lifter. Real truth right there. Literally, no to ego lifting.

There is one time me and my dad lift the 30kg weight and both sides land on my feets We went to the doctors as fast as possible and the doctor's said 'your leg is not broken!' But the pain is beyond kicking to my nuts 10 times in a row
  • My brother gave himself a life of chronic back pain from leg- pressing too much weight as a high-school athlete. Going slow and gradually ramping up your challenge is the way to go!
  • @khalilahd.
Oh my god the guy who couldn’t lift the weights and got it stuck on his neck was so terrifying. That’s literally my worst fear 😖
  • @tanvie_69
dr mike: "maybe because im elderly" me: "oh pls you are not. not even a bit" dr mike: "imagine their name is axel." me: "oh ok. you are all set to be a dad my friend. all dad jokes RIGHT on point."

6:41 Mike: if that hits tooth gone! Me: if that hits brain cells gone!
  • Someone took my weight once when i was having a little break between sets too. I wasnt using it then. I was squatting so the barbell was high on the machine. This guy walks up and just takes one of my 20s. remember im dutch so its kg no lbs. I said; 'im using that.' he says; 'Yes, i know, ill give it back when you are done with your break.' I said; 'No, im not done yet, im using that. go find another weight.' He put it back, but im suprised anyone would do that. for some reason the barbell stayed put and didnt fall of. sombody could have srsly hurt themselves
  • its so insane how he's a REAL goddamn doctor and still has time for his social media updates while my high school homework is crying in a corner
  • Came to see people get hurt and laugh and got educated and surprised. What a lovely person. Subbed. Also interested in law school might check out that follow up! ❤
