I am convinced that Drumeo has been trying to remove Chad from the studio for weeks, but he just won't leave

It’s crazy how good he plays this song without ever having listened to it before

I could watch this guy forever. No joke. Never gets old. I don’t even play drums or have a kit. I’m a guitarist! 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

Really love the way Chad treats the recorded studio drum parts. They’re the basis of the song for radio, but when switched to a live setting it means nothing. It’s a jumping off point for him to jam, while still maintaining the hardest of grooves. You know what it usually sounds like, you’ve heard it a thousand times, so here it is with 4 times the energy. The guys sense of fun behind a kit is infectious. Love it.

I never realized how much I wanted to see drummers jamming to their own songs.

Chad Smith is one of those rare musicians where the hype surrounding him is 100% justified

I was working in a rehearsal studio and the Peppers were in there for about a month. Every day, Chad, Flea and John would just jam for an hour or so before Rick Rubin and Anthony got there. It was unreal, like Hendrix with Bonham and Jaco for a rhythm section. John sang a bunch. Some of the best live music I've heard and it never saw the light of day. Same with STP. They'd jam for hours before Weiland showed up. Another great band with a powerhouse in the back.

This song is the best concert opener of all time. Every time I see the Chili’s live and they open with this track the whole place feels electric and everyone is immediately 100% in it

Phenomenal. RHCP are truly a supergroup. Chad, Flea, John... and say whatever the hell you want about Anthony's lack of vocal range or whatever else ... there's NO ONE BETTER to front the band. Appreciate them while they're still doing it, folks.

Chad is just the coolest guy ever. You cant help but smile and jam to him playing the drums..his energy is so infectious 😎
  • @dino_not_dyno
The light pulsing of the left foot on the hi hat stand is a major factor of how he gets that unique hat sound on every chilis track
  • @roch4z
Chad's a monster. I like that he loves playing the songs, he still has that drive on point 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
  • @DAG90ish
The intro jams into this song are always absolutely epic
  • The crescendo at the beggining of the song is what comes to my mind when I think about how a perfect crescendo should be
  • @fewpoundcory
cant believe he nailed this on the first take like he did 30 seconds to mars. true talent!
  • @Cantst10
His energy is infectious man 🤘 he's playing with heart with every hit. Amazing
  • @knappdaddy
I love the way his feet never stop even when he’s not nailing the kick, guys got serious rhythm !!
