Vanishing Waterfalls DIY Natural Mini Stream

Since the pond's conception, I have known that I wanted significant arrangements for the pollinators. I thoroughly enjoy seeing flowers and plants, but it’s all made better when butterflies, bees, and other pollinating insects are present. Plus, they’re highly beneficial to have around.

I’ve done similar things, but not to this extent. The garden area is quite large, consisting primarily of native cultivars and native plants, many of which I pulled directly from elsewhere on the property. I knew I could stop there and even built a drinking rock fountain using easy DIY techniques.

I'm so excited to share this installment of the ecocystem pond series. Creating features for the pollinators and finishing the landscape were on the radar for quite a while. There still much more to complete, but only a few more episodes remain. What do you think the progress thus far and what's your favorite pollinating insect? I've always been fascinated with butterflies and moths, but beetles are cool too. Let me know and have a great weekend SerpaSquad!

I feel like there is no way to truly end this series. The changing landscape as everything matures and seasons come and go would surely provide background for endless storylines. Hopefully there will be updates as time goes by. Truly one of the most moving series on YouTube.

This has the most drama and beauty. Like I don't think I've ever been so invested in frogs and birds.

Wow, the parents actually stuck around until the last one left the nest! I was scared they would‘ve left already because all of the others were gone roughly at the same time. What amazing patience from them as well

I absolutely love that you added this pollinator/natives garden, so many host plants available now 🙂

Bird parents care for fledglings for quite a while after they leave the nest. So unless the first nestling to fledge was predated (unlikely to be known), its parents were still bringing it food and showing it the bird ropes in the cover and relative safety of the woods as they waited for the other four to fledge. And then they'll look after all five in this way -- and the fledglings will continue to seek (pester for!) this care well into being juveniles. Being a clueless fledgling out of the nest is an important, and often hilarious, stage in a bird's life. It is only when the juveniles look almost like mom and dad that the instinct to truly leave kicks in, and each will then go be their own adult Phoebes in their own small territories. Then they too will migrate, and then return in the years to come, repeat the cycle. Hooray a pollinator garden! I have two and they're so rewarding. You're making a beautiful and tranquil spot, and your continued hard work is definitely paying off! Thanks for sharing it with us.

I absolutely love this series on the development and expansion of your pond. Between documenting the local wildlife and explaining the reasons for your expansion and changes to the landscape, this has become your best video series.

This series is by far one of the most brilliant and beautiful you’ve done yet. In the many years of watching this channel, I have never been more moved I cannot wait for the next part!

This is national geographic level doco level footage. Well done! I love it.
  • Wildly in awe of your patience and perseverance. The footage you've managed to gather is stunning and completes the whole story. Serious kudos

I love watching bees work and drink where they can - if they find such a place, they tend to literally flock there. I'm sure that the insects really appreciated what you did for them. And the ecosystem in the area will appreciate the insects.

Looking forward to the next episode, Tanner. This series is really good!

I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed this series. The wildlife shots are incredible, especially the phoebes' story. I also loved the bonus scaping in this installment.

This was truly amazing! You‘ve crammed so much content into one 15 min video it‘s unbelievable! The whole hatch to leaving the nest journey of the birds, cinematic, calming footage of your pond, the frogs, the butterflies, the deer and still multiple diy projects. There‘s so much work put into this video and it really paid off
  • The photography is top level, which really helps me to appreciate all the details. Glad to see the phoebes got a second brood through to fledgling stage without being parasitized. Great work man, really enjoying this series.
  • I love the fact that you have a natural source of materials available to you with that creek so close.

Beautiful video again. Award worthy! 🇦🇺❤️

That was like an episode of wild planet! The fountain is awesome too!
