I installed this optic on a crossman 760 air rifle.I have now shot the riffle around 500 times during target/plinking practice, and the youtube.com/post/Ugkxc4K63Fd5LglDMObu7-Bgapxp_ef0W… scope has done well. With this optic, I have neutralized around 30 pigeons that were invading one of my buildings. For my short range air rifle, I will continue to use this scope, but will be upgrading to a more powerful scope, when I buy a more powerful air rifle, in order to shoot at longer distance. For the money I have spent, this scope has truly been a great buy.

Thanks for the vids. I'm looking to get started and this helped immensely. Already subscribed. 👍

I was looking at NRL base class, decided on the rifle and scope you picked! I thought it was because I'm bias towards Ruger and Bushnell, but glade to see others are choosing them for performance reasons! I thought about the Arken Optics 5-25X56mm FFP MIL VPR Reticle ($565), but the minimum parallax is 25 yards.

Tom you are the "salt of the earth" kind of guy and that's what I like. I truly believe if there were more people like you in this country, we would not even be thinking about the things you just talked about. There would be more respect for each other because we would deserve it. Our elected officials, would be people with integrity and a genuine respect and love of this country, and the citizens that live here. You are the kind of person that keeps my faith that there is light at the end of the tunnel and the kind of person I'd be proud to call my friend, if I actually knew you in person. keep up the good fight and a great channel.
  • This is a nice series of videos for a beginner shooter as it keeps them on a budget let alone the nrl22 and gets them something decent without over buying something they really didnt need
  • @PVW1960
Getting ready to buy so really appreciate it!
  • Grieat point on needing the parallex to work low as well as the scope needing to be first focal plane. Personally I like to have the magnification range low end a bit less at no more than five since seeing the larger picture is important as well in my opinion. I ran the diamondback tactical for some time, but in the 4x16.
  • i'm heading to gunsite tomorrow for the sunday match. good luck with yours!

Great work! I recently bought the Athlon 8-34, but mainly for 50 yd benchrest. The SFP options for ARA-type factory class are pretty slim these days with a moderately-priced rifle. Thankfully, the reticle thickness (my biggest concern with this scope) at max magnification doesn't seem to interfere with the target bulls at all. This is now the most expensive scope I own, but it's built like a tank and fits perfectly on my 457.

Thank you for the video. I got the cz457 varmint so with the current rules im looking at something 520 and under.
  • An unknown diamond in the rough is the AYIN Reaper 6-24x50 FFP 30mm for $159 shipped and is nicer than the Athlon Argos and Vortex Diamondback Tactical. It's comparably closer to the Bushnell Match Pro.
  • One currently very affordable at under $300 scope that will work very well for both NRL and ASA is the FFP Arken SH4 gen2 6-24×50 It has a Christmas tree style reticle with a dot vs straight cross hair is available in MOA or MILLs IMO a MOA reticle is better for shooting 22lr vs MILLs has target turrets and zero stop Essentially everything one needs to shoot both NRL and ASA targets and be as capable as any other scope in the <$500 price range. Arken has a lifetime warranty and excellent CS Well worth your consideration

Great video. Another scope I'll throw out there is the Riton X3 Conquer 6-24x50. Decent glass, great reticle, focuses down to 10 yards, FFP, zero stop. They were $250 for a while on Amazon but have jumped up to $340 recently. Still a great deal, I bought two.

I was impressed with this video and your knowledge of scopes and I have a very simple question but it's very confusing for me when there's an up Arrow on the turret that says turn the arrow that direction and it goes up I am confused on what goes up does your aim go up or does the radical go up which would make your aim lower can you please clear that up for me thank you
  • @Armadurapersonal
What do you think of the Element Helix 6-24x50 FFP? getting it for the CZ 457 LRP
