I've been shooting 22lr competitions for 9 years. Got aggravated chasing the ammo. Currently shooting center fire 100yd benchrest. In the process of dissecting some Lapua Center-X and weighing the components, bullet, powder,,primer and case. Plan on shooting different weight rounds and record velocities and POI differences. I have found as much as 2.6 tenths of a grain difference within the same lot. There's an average of 1.02 grains of powder and anywhere from .50 to .58 tenths of a grain of primer. Flyers lose matches! I'll post my findings on one of the rimfire groups on Facebook. Enjoy your videos, thanks.

Got to love that #5 sighter confidence builder at 100y 🀣. I've started doing a first shots - five shot group at the beginning of sight in before a 100m smallbore silhouette match and posting the group publicly, its been great data to collect and watch over time. Thanks for sharing the match, nice to watch through the scope.
  • Sommer last year I was getting MOA out to 300 meters using a CZ 457 MTR 20"and SK Long Range Match. But that was at a range day with absolutely no wind.

Wow! I am happy to see this. Sometimes I get these wild flyers too and tend to blame myself. But I guess ammo and wind issues are everything

May I offer a humble suggestion, Try Midas + and not only that but try different batch numbers also. eg. Lot # 25555 vs 27555 vs 29555 and so on, basically whatever the vendor has available. Each gun, each weather condition, each lot number will change accuracy. BTW just ordered some of your Sofa stickers for my group of pals.😁

Have my last smallbore match of the year on Saturday. It can be frustrating, but it’s still more relaxing than shooting highpower.

I got sucked into the rimfire game a year back. You can have a 7K rifle that randomly sprays rimfire like buckshot. It will make a fool of you.

Ha ha that's how I felt the Fclass match. Oh shit why did that hit over there?πŸ˜‚
  • @helmkampchris
i've had the same issues, went to lapua for lot testing ;-) should have done that years ago , just my 2 cents

That tiny 40 grain bullet gets blown everywhere at 100 yards. I have a one hole 10 shot group rifle at 25 yards indoor that struggles with an inch group at 100 yards outdoors in less than perfect conditions. 22 LR got to love it... πŸ˜”

22lr is hands down the hardest form of shooting. Its just so easy to manipulate a 22 a d u cant get away with any short commings. I shot ara benchreat for a while and it was just a little to boring. When I get to old for prs ill give staionary shooting another try.

Im a reasonably experienced shooter and understand the differences between center-fire and rim fire. It seems like rim fire accuracy is so dependent on ammo quality to attain accuracy regardless of the gun. I understand why "reloading" 22lr is not really possible, but why cant we "load" 22lr? Pre-primed rim cases and you load the powder of choice and projectile. Why is that not a thing?
  • The target stand you are using may I see it with out a target on it Plese. I have been looking for one like it. Would like to buy or build one. Thanks.

Kinda looked like you were dialled in for a 6'o clock hold on the top of the dot, you just didn't hold there all that often.
  • @albertlemont5471
What is all the racket between shots? I know you have to rack another round but there is more going on than that right?
