Cummins MEP-1030 5kw AMMPS in parallel operation.
3 x AMMPS 5kw in parallel load share without switchbox.
The generator needs to support working in parallel. The control cable needs to be connected to each unit operating in parallel. The 3rd generation AMMPS generators 5kw-60kw have built in parallel support.

I'm a GEN mech in the Army. I haven't had the opportunity to properly train on those. I might need to contact you for advice from time to time... 😂

Love the ammps they have the same Interface module as the BPU. I'm a electrical power production technician 3E072 in the Air Force.

Interesting. I didn't realize that it was possible to phase lock three separate generators like this. With all the variations of engine speeds I would think the phase would be all over the place. And then of course there is the question of why you is three small generators when you can use one large one? The extra space and complexity of this setup doesn't make any sense.
  • GREAT VIDEO ! thank you for posting this. Have you done any modifications since then ?

Regarding the ouput outlet, do these gens require a special plug of some sort or can you use standard civilian electrical plugs or connectors?
  • Daybreak, Can we talk about all the pieces and parts I will need to make this work with two MEP-1050 15kw generators? Thanks, Dave

This is terrific, thanks for posting. Question: why are you getting switch box warnings? Is the DCS expecting that connection and it's not getting it? Thanks!
