The question is do parents have a right to be notified if their child wishes to change their gender identification or pronouns. And it's a controversial topic in California school districts and across the nation.

On Monday, Governor Gavin Newsom signed the SAFETY Act into law preventing school districts from being required to notify parents if a student wishes to identify differently.

    And in California if a parent neglects a child well being, they go to jail! I definitely wouldn’t allow my child going to any school that promotes this gay behavior!

    He’s gone too far! How do you tell a parent who takes care of their child they are not able to be notified about decisions their under age children are making? You all are not providing for them. No! Until they are over 18 their parents should be notified of everything that is happening unless there is some abuse. You should be liable for their upkeep since you are making decisions for their life, you take care of them.

    Whenever an adult says to a child "This is a secret, don't tell your parents." It's always bad.

    This is really bad. This is ridiculous. I want to sue Newsom government too but don’t know how to do it.

    How does the State assume power over the family/parents. Again, not all parents are perfect or good, but having the state not notify parents about kids, is quite authoritarian/totalitarian.
