I have to constantly remind my wife to lock our doors and turn on the alarm system when she comes inside. She insists that nobody would even think to bother us. But there are so many crazy people out there who do random housechecks, robberies, and acts of violence.

I was alone working at a store. I was closing up and the door was locked. A guy was banging on the window screaming for me to open the door. There was a car accident and needed to use the phone. I said no I'll call the cops. He was pissed. I got on the phone, called the cops. He left. The cops came and said there was no car accident and the cop escorted me to my car. That was so freaky. I was a teenager at the time and glad I knew to question it.

What’s also sad about the woman being kidnapped is that a person’s automatic response is to let her in but nowadays we don’t know if it’s a set up. Just in case it is, you don’t let her in but still call the police but by that time it could be too late.
