  • “How about sunrise land?” No “Why?” The Sun Is A Deadly Laser

as someone whose first language is definitely not english, i watched this video approximately 7 years ago for the first time and barely understood anything due to the overall adhd kinda vibe. rewatching the video now got me thinking about how dramatically my english has improved over the years as i am not only able to get what bill was saying but even catch each word individually. wow. kinda proud of myself.

I love how besides how much quickness, memes and goofiness over the explanation in this video, the nuclear explosion ( 8:25) felt so much sorrow and had more psychological weight than the rest of the video. Absolutely 10/10
  • Everything about this is perfectly in between "I'm teaching history" and "I don't give a shit"

I came back for a refresher when Blue Eye Samurai came out, and again now that Shogun is out. What a resource. Thank you, bill wurtz.
  • My history teacher once described World War I as "If you punch me in the face, all my friends are gonna beat you up, which means all YOUR friends are gonna beat THEM up" and I feel like 6:20 really captures that same feeling

"Can you maybe chill?" "How bout maybe YOU chill??" Sibling wars.
  • Mongols: Exist Tornadoes: So anyway, I started blasting
  • "Try it" "No" "So a new religon was put into place"

I started watching Shogun and the second they mentioned the five guys fighting to be emperor I immediately thought of this
  • i havent seen this video for years but for some reason i just randomly wanted to watch it. the atomic bomb drop always kinda gives me chills. the tone of this video isnt meant to be serious but ive always liked that that moment is given the gravitas that it deserves. anyway, this took me back and it still holds up
  • “Open the country, stop having it be closed” is an underrated part.
